Where the Bass Pro Shops project is located
The planned Bass Pro Shops Outpost is part of Rainy Creek, a 35-acre mixed-use development on northeast Abilene’s side near Interstate 20 and East Ambler Avenue. What the cost and construction dates mean
A KTAB/KRBC report carried by AOL and updated October 5, 2026, says project filings list an estimated cost of $19,646,985 and a scheduled construction start of November 15, 2026. The report says the schedule estimates about a year to complete. Those are filing-based estimates and dates; they do not establish the final cost, actual start date or exact completion date. The City’s current project page, by contrast, says construction is underway. Because the filings’ scheduled start and the City’s current status are different kinds of information, the scheduled date should not be treated as proof that work began that day.

Published figures vary, and the sources do not establish whether they use the same measurement or project scope. The figures should therefore remain attributed rather than treated as interchangeable:

When the store is expected to open
