WBAY reported WisDOT’s completion announcement on October 6, 2026, and said the $1.9 million project finished on time and under budget, according to the department.
Where the US 141 work took place
The resurfacing project covered US 141 between County Road MM in the town of Ledgeview and Continental Drive in the village of Bellevue. WisDOT identified the same 2.6-mile limits in its July project announcement. WBAY’s completion report gives the later status; WisDOT’s project announcement describes the planned work.
What the project included
WisDOT described the project as pavement resurfacing with related drainage, roadside-safety, accessibility, and intersection work. WBAY’s October 6 report gives the following as-built pavement details:
- On the mainline, crews milled 2½ inches of existing pavement and overlaid it with 4 inches of asphaltic pavement.
- At the Allouez Avenue roundabout, the County MM/Wall Street intersection, and from Ontario Road/Glenmore Road to about 600 feet east, crews milled and overlaid 1¾ inches.
WBAY also reported culvert repairs, beam-guard replacements, curb-ramp upgrades, pavement markings, and repairs to splitter islands and median noses. At four intersections, crews cleared vision corners within WisDOT right-of-way to maintain safe railroad crossings. These construction details are reported by WBAY; the available WisDOT project announcement describes the planned scope rather than confirming each as-built dimension.

Cost, timing, and contractor
The published cost figures differ in precision and are not reconciled in the available reports.

Why WisDOT undertook the work
WisDOT said resurfacing was intended to provide a smoother ride, extend pavement life, and reduce future maintenance costs. The agency also said culvert repairs would help drainage, guardrail upgrades would improve safety in the event of an impact, and curb-ramp upgrades would improve accessibility. Those are anticipated benefits cited by WisDOT; the completion coverage does not provide post-project measurements confirming the results. Brown County’s February 2026 transportation improvement program amendment provides planning and funding context for the project.
