Gujarat-based company Co2ncrete makes cement-free bricks and building components using industrial byproducts and construction waste. The company says its prefabricated approach has helped build more than 450 homes. A reported cost of around ₹7 lakh per home needs qualification: the available coverage does not specify the home’s size, location basis or what the figure includes.
How Co2ncrete turns factory waste into building components
Founded by Vedant and Aditi Gandi, Co2ncrete describes a product range of cement-free bricks and solid or hollow blocks made using industrial residues, including fly ash and silica sludge, as well as construction waste. Its website says, “We have developed 100% cement free construction blocks.” That is the company’s description; the available reports do not provide independent technical verification of the products’ composition or performance.
The approach is prefabricated: components are made before being transported and assembled on site. The Economic Times places the founders’ origin story in Ankleshwar, while Co2ncrete’s company profile lists Bharuch as its headquarters. Both are in Gujarat, so “Gujarat-based” is the clearest general description.
What is known about the reported homes, cost and timeline?
The Economic Times reported in 2026 that more than 450 homes had been built, attributing the figure to the company. Co2ncrete’s impact page also claims 450-plus affordable homes. Neither source provides an independent audit of the total. The company’s undated impact page separately says it has impacted more than 500 families, without explaining how that count is calculated; it is not the same measure as homes built.

The Times of India reported in July 2026 that Anuj Mohanty put the cost at around ₹7 lakh per home. The report does not state the house size, what is included, the location basis or whether the amount is a current quote. Treat it as a reported example, not a universal price or a like-for-like comparison with conventional construction.
Construction time is also reported rather than guaranteed. The Economic Times relayed the company’s claim that a home can be completed in as little as 30 days; the Times of India gave a range of 15 to 30 days. The sources do not define the scope of work or conditions behind those timelines.

What the environmental and savings figures do—and do not—show
Co2ncrete’s website publishes claims including 50% cost savings, recycling 600 kg of industrial waste daily and offsetting 0.5 kg of CO₂ per kilogram produced. Its impact page also states that 23,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions have been saved and more than 4,200 metric tonnes of construction-and-demolition waste recycled. These are company-reported figures; the retrieved material does not provide the calculation methods or independent verification needed to treat them as established performance results.
The company site links to certifications and laboratory results, but the available reporting does not detail the tests, their results or how they relate to specific products and uses. Those details matter: “cement-free” describes an input choice, but by itself does not establish structural suitability, durability, thermal comfort, fire performance or an emissions advantage over another building system.

Co2ncrete identifies builders, construction companies, architects and government or infrastructure projects as target customers for its ECO2 bricks and solid or hollow blocks. For a project decision, ask for evidence tied to the specific product and scope rather than relying on broad headline claims.
- Material inputs: Request the product specification, including which industrial residues are used and whether composition varies by product.
- Standards and testing: Obtain the actual certification and laboratory reports, confirm the issuing body and test date, and check that the intended application is covered.
- Structural, thermal and fire performance: Compare documented results for the proposed wall or building system—not just the block in isolation—with the requirements of the project.
- Full project cost: Request an itemized quotation that defines house size, location, foundations, finishes, transport, assembly, services and exclusions. Do not compare the reported ₹7 lakh figure with another quote until those scopes match.
- Schedule: Ask what the stated construction period includes, what site preparation is assumed and which activities could affect the completion date.
- Environmental claims: Ask for the method and boundary behind waste, carbon and savings figures, including whether they are independently reviewed.
The available evidence supports a careful profile of a company using waste-derived inputs and prefabricated components. It does not establish that the reported price, timeline, home count or environmental figures apply to every project.
