Choose a cycle first, then look for a Temperature or Temp control and select from the heat options available for that cycle. Samsung dryer controls vary by model, and some cycles do not allow temperature changes, so use your exact model’s user manual if the panel or options differ.
Change the temperature setting
- Check the garment care label. Follow its drying instructions before selecting a heat level; Samsung recommends following the garment maker’s directions.
- Select a suitable cycle for the load on the dryer’s control panel.
- Find the Temperature or Temp control. Use it to move through the options available for the selected cycle. On some Samsung washer-dryers, pressing Temperature cycles through the available choices, but button names and sequences differ across models.
- If no temperature options appear, check whether the selected cycle restricts adjustments. Consult the cycle compatibility chart in the user manual for your exact model, or try a cycle that supports temperature changes.
- Start the cycle after choosing the available setting that fits the care label.
Samsung’s dryer settings guide explains that cycle settings vary and directs owners to the model manual’s chart. Its washer-dryer instructions illustrate the Temperature-button method for that appliance type; do not assume the same sequence applies to every standalone dryer.
Choose a heat level that fits the garment
Samsung US describes the following approximate temperature ranges for its settings. These are setting descriptions, not guaranteed drum-temperature readings for every model, load, or point in a cycle. Available choices depend on the dryer and selected cycle.

Use the garment’s care label for the item’s heat limit; the dryer manual determines which settings your model offers.

Temperature is different from dryness and cycle time
Sensor Dry
Sensor Dry detects moisture and stops when the selected dryness level is reached. Samsung says it can dynamically adjust temperature and time during operation, so a selected heat setting should not be treated as a fixed drum temperature. Dry Level controls how dry laundry should be when the cycle ends; it is separate from the temperature control.
Manual Dry
Manual Dry runs for a predetermined time and ends when that time expires, whether or not the laundry is dry. It is therefore different from selecting a temperature or setting a Sensor Dry target.

If the dryer seems cool at first
Check whether your model has Eco Dry and whether it is enabled. Samsung says Eco Dry reduces power use, may extend cycle length, and can begin without heat. On some models it is enabled by default for Normal and Time Dry. A cool start alone does not establish that the dryer’s heating system has failed. Samsung discusses this behavior in its troubleshooting guidance for laundry that is not dry.
For a control panel that does not match these steps, locate the dryer’s model number and consult its user manual rather than guessing at a button sequence. Samsung’s general guide notes that cycles, settings, and features vary by model.
