For a corded blower, Reviewed’s top overall pick was the Worx WG520 Turbine 600. For cordless cleanup, Reviewed selected the EGO Power+ LB7654; in a separate 2025 cordless-only head-to-head, Pro Tool Reviews scored the Ryobi 40V HP Brushless RY40HPLB01 first and the STIHL BGA 250 second. These are four recommendations drawn from two different test groups—not a single comparison of all four models.

How to choose between corded and cordless
Choose corded for uninterrupted work within reach
A corded blower avoids the battery-runtime limit, but the cord and extension-cord reach constrain where you can work. The Worx WG520 is the corded pick here; choose it only if the outlet location and a suitable extension cord work for your cleanup area.
Choose cordless for mobility, with runtime in mind
Cordless models let you move farther from an outlet, but runtime depends on the battery and power setting. The EGO LB7654 delivered 30 minutes in Reviewed’s test, while Pro Tool Reviews measured 11:37 for the Ryobi RY40HPLB01 in High. Those figures come from different tests and should not be treated as a direct battery-life comparison.

The four picks in detail
1. Worx WG520 Turbine 600: best overall corded pick in Reviewed’s test
Reviewed tested 14 handheld corded and battery blowers in New England, clearing leaves, pine needles, acorns, and dust around obstacles. Its WG520 pick cleared leaves across surfaces, including wet leaves on pavement. That task result is more useful than treating a single airflow figure as a complete measure of cleanup ability.
Reviewed reports the WG520 at 7.2 lb and up to 82 dB at its highest speed; the model’s claimed airflow is 600 CFM. Since the figure is tied to highest speed, it is not directly comparable with a noise reading taken on another blower at a different setting. The cord is the main practical limitation: confirm that your work area can be reached safely and conveniently.
2. EGO Power+ LB7654: best cordless pick in Reviewed’s test
Reviewed reports 765 CFM and 30 minutes’ runtime in its test. The blower weighed 9.6 lb with its battery attached, so it should not be considered lightweight on the strength of these results. Its low setting registered 86 dB in Reviewed’s measurement; this is not an apples-to-apples comparison with the Worx’s highest-speed reading.

The LB7654’s Thrust button adds high-power output, which can scatter mulch as well as leaves. Use that boost where the added force is useful, and lower the output around beds or loose material. Check whether a listing is for a bare tool or a kit, and verify the battery and charger included before comparing prices.
3. Ryobi 40V HP Brushless RY40HPLB01: top scorer in Pro Tool Reviews’ cordless head-to-head
In its October 6, 2025 cordless-only group, Pro Tool Reviews scored the Ryobi 95, ahead of the STIHL BGA 250 at 94 and the Toro 51827 at 86. The score describes performance within that test group, not against every electric blower available.
Pro Tool Reviews lists 800 CFM and 180 MPH as the Ryobi’s published specifications. In its tests, the blower reached a maximum measured force of 24.8 N and ran for 11 minutes 37 seconds in High—the shortest runtime in that group. That High-mode runtime came with strong output; reducing power can extend a battery charge, though the review does not supply an alternative runtime figure here. Working weight was 10.6 lb with an 8 Ah battery.
Rank #3

That review also measured 79 dB(a) at 36 inches for the Ryobi. Keep the distance and test context attached to that number: it cannot be ranked directly against readings taken at another position or setting.
4. STIHL BGA 250: runner-up in the same cordless head-to-head
Pro Tool Reviews reports 615 CFM, 190 MPH, and 26 N of rated blowing force for the BGA 250. It lists a 10.1 lb working weight with an AP 500 S battery. The source’s force figure is rated rather than presented as a measured maximum in the same way as the Ryobi’s 24.8 N test result, so the two numbers should not be read as a controlled head-to-head force comparison.
The review gives different prices for bare and kit configurations. Confirm the exact battery and charger included in the listing you are considering; a battery bundle changes both the purchase cost and the working setup.

What airflow, force, runtime, and noise figures really tell you
CFM and MPH describe different things
CFM is airflow volume; MPH is airspeed. Neither figure on its own captures how effectively a blower moves leaves in a real cleanup. Pro Tool Reviews reports Newton-based force measurements alongside task testing, while Reviewed describes clearing performance across surfaces. Prefer those contextual results over choosing a blower solely because one number is larger.
Battery size and power mode affect performance
Runtime is meaningful only with its battery and operating setting. Pro Tool Reviews measured the Ryobi in High, while Reviewed’s EGO runtime comes from a separate test. Do not use the two figures to declare one platform more efficient. Battery bundles also matter: in its testing of the separate EGO LB8803-2, Pro Tool Reviews recorded force rising from 20 N with a 4 Ah battery to 25 N with a 7.5 Ah battery and 30 N with a 12 Ah battery; packs below 4 Ah limited available speed modes. Those findings illustrate why pack size and kit details matter, but they are not specifications for the LB7654.
Noise readings depend on where and how they are taken
Noise numbers in these reviews were recorded under different conditions. Reviewed’s 82 dB for the Worx is at highest speed, and its 86 dB for the EGO is at lowest setting. Pro Tool Reviews’ 79 dB(a) for the Ryobi was measured at 36 inches. These readings are useful within their stated contexts, not as a universal ranking of which blower is quietest.

How to make the shortlist useful for your property
- Start with the work area: If the cleanup stays near an outlet, consider the corded Worx; if you need to move freely, focus on cordless options.
- Match output to the surface: Stronger bursts can help with stubborn debris, but the EGO’s Thrust mode can scatter mulch. Favor control near planting beds and loose landscaping.
- Check working weight: Compare cordless blowers with the battery attached, not just as bare tools. The listed weights here are 9.6 lb for the EGO with battery, 10.6 lb for the Ryobi with an 8 Ah battery, and 10.1 lb for the STIHL with an AP 500 S battery.
- Verify the box contents: Before buying a cordless tool, confirm whether the price is for the bare blower or includes the battery and charger, and whether that battery suits your expected work.
- Use your own cleanup conditions: Wet leaves, pavement, pine needles, and debris among obstacles place different demands on a blower; a published ranking cannot guarantee the same result on every site.
What the rankings do—and do not—establish
Reviewed’s August 25, 2025 update names the Worx WG520 its overall winner and the EGO LB7654 its cordless winner after testing 14 handheld blowers. Pro Tool Reviews’ October 6, 2025 head-to-head compares cordless models and ranks the Ryobi first and STIHL second within that group. A separate Pro Tool Reviews roundup also highlights the corded Toro Powerjet F700 (120 V/12 A, 725 CFM, 140 MPH, 6.6 lb dry) and the SKIL PWR Core 40 (530 CFM, 130 MPH, 14.1 N reported force), but its update date is not established here; those figures do not make either an equivalent tested winner in the two cohorts above. See the broader roundup.
Popular Mechanics describes a different method, including runtime runs at maximum standard power without turbo by default, leaf and hay clearing, a sawdust erosion test, and sound readings at the operator and 75 feet. Its method description explains how one controlled test can add context to published blower specifications; the exact update date was not visible in that passage.
