How to check whether a rack fits your pan and oven
Compare the rack’s stated length and width with the pan’s interior dimensions, not just the pan’s nominal size. Allow for the rack’s feet and any lip or rim on the pan. Also check the oven’s usable width and depth: a rack that fits a sheet pan may not clear the oven walls or rails.

How to choose by material and wire spacing
Stainless steel and corrosion concerns
Hamilton Housewares says its racks use Grade 304 stainless steel, also known as 18/8, and says Grade 201 (18/0) is more likely to rust. That is the manufacturer’s comparison, not an independent durability test. If steel grade matters to you, check that the exact product listing identifies it rather than assuming all stainless racks use the same grade.
Small foods and wire spacing
Wire spacing affects whether a rack supports foods such as fries without letting them fall through. Hamilton Housewares states that its racks have 3/8-inch spacing and connects that spacing with keeping small foods supported. Other examples in this guide do not state a comparable spacing measurement, so compare the actual product details if this is important for your cooking.

Check the temperature limit before using a rack in the oven
Oven safety is specific to the product. The cited maker pages give different limits: Sur La Table lists 450°F for its grids, Caraway lists up to 550°F, and Hamilton Housewares states 575°F for its racks. All-Clad’s guide gives 450°F for its Pro-Release nonstick rack and up to 600°F for stainless racks included in bakeware sets. Care instructions vary. Sur La Table calls its grids dishwasher safe; Hamilton Housewares says its racks may be dishwasher- or hand-washed. Check the care guidance for the exact model, especially if it has a coating or folding parts.
Some makers describe uses beyond cooling: Caraway lists roasting proteins and crisping vegetables, while Hamilton Housewares describes oven, grill and broiler use. Those are manufacturer-described uses; confirm that the product’s temperature and method guidance covers your intended cooking. A stackable or folding design may also help with storage, but it does not change the need to check dimensions and use limits.
