Amazon’s warranty says Denali products may be made by an unaffiliated third party. Some power tools are described as “Denali by SKIL,” but that branding alone does not prove SKIL makes every Denali product. Whether a Denali tool is any good depends on the exact model and the work you expect it to do.
Who makes Amazon’s Denali tools?
The clearest answer is that Amazon owns the brand, while the manufacturer may be a separate company. A USPTO-hosted trademark record names Amazon Technologies, Inc. as the DENALI registrant. It lists power tools, certain power-tool accessories, lawnmowers, and socket sets among the goods, but it does not identify a factory or original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
Amazon’s Denali Limited Warranty states that a product “may be manufactured by a third party not affiliated with Amazon.” The document does not name that third party. In other words, “Amazon brand” tells you who owns the mark, not who built a particular tool.
Is Denali made by SKIL?
A November 2025 overview by Engineer Fix describes Denali power tools as “Denali by SKIL.” That supports an association in how some power tools are branded; it is not primary manufacturing documentation and does not establish that SKIL is the legal manufacturer, makes every Denali power tool, or supplies the rest of the Denali range.

Do not assume Denali hand tools and power tools share a supplier, or that Denali batteries work with SKIL-branded tools. The sources cited here do not establish either point. Check the exact product and platform documentation before relying on cross-brand battery compatibility.
Are Denali tools any good?
There is not enough comparable testing to give the Denali brand a blanket pass or fail. A tool can be suitable for occasional household jobs and still be a poor fit for repeated, high-load construction work. Judge the exact model against its intended workload rather than treating a brand label as a performance rating.

Bob Vila’s hands-on review, updated September 1, 2022, covered selected Denali hand tools and accessories, but explicitly did not test Denali power tools. For a Denali by SKIL drill, Woot’s listing includes individual owner reviews with both favorable reports and complaints about demanding tasks or defects. Those accounts can show the range of user experiences, but they are not controlled tests and cannot predict the performance of every unit.
What to check before choosing a Denali tool
- Workload and duty cycle: Consider whether the job is occasional assembly or repair, or repeated work under sustained load.
- Exact model and kit: Compare the tool itself, battery capacity, charger, and included accessories. A drill sold as a kit may not match a bare tool or a different bundle.
- Evidence for that model: Give more weight to independent testing of the exact model than to brand-wide impressions or customer anecdotes.
- Warranty on the listing: Confirm the applicable period and exclusions on the current product detail page.
- Total ownership fit: Compare current price and whether you already own a compatible battery platform. Verify compatibility for the precise model rather than inferring it from “by SKIL.”

These are the periods in that document, not a guarantee that every current listing has the same coverage. The warranty directs buyers to the product detail page for the applicable period, so check the specific listing and terms before purchase.

The USPTO-hosted record is evidence of brand ownership and listed product categories, not product performance or manufacturing origin. It lists first use in commerce as June 30, 2023 for specified power-tool goods and July 31, 2022 for socket sets, and records the DENALI registration on March 5, 2024. Those are administrative trademark dates; they do not indicate when a tool was designed, where it was made, or how well it performs.
