Zook Cabins describes The Outpost as a rustic park model tiny home with log-style character, a covered porch, and a compact two-bedroom layout. Its official page does not confirm the 11-foot ceilings named in the tour title, and it lists two different size figures in separate sections. Treat the ceiling height, plan, and bedroom details as unit-specific items to verify before ordering.
What is The Outpost?
The Outpost is part of Zook Cabins’ Cattleman Collection. The manufacturer describes it as a park model tiny home with authentic log construction and exterior detailing designed to resemble chinking. The exterior specification lists kiln-dried Eastern White Pine log walls, a galvanized aluminum corrugated metal roof, vinyl windows, a sliding patio door, and a covered porch with Lunawood decking and black aluminum railing. These are manufacturer-published descriptions, not an independent inspection. Zook Cabins’ official Outpost page
Inside, the listed finishes include luxury vinyl plank flooring, stained pine logs as a primary wall finish, vertical pine tongue-and-groove accents, and an electric fireplace. The described living arrangement includes a kitchenette and dining area, a bathroom, a walk-through room with Twin XL bunk beds, and a separate private bedroom. Zook Cabins’ official Outpost page
How large is the Outpost?
Zook’s official page gives two sets of figures in different sections. The general specifications list exterior dimensions of 12 by 45 feet and 400 finished interior square feet. The floor-plan entry is labeled 12 by 41 feet and 394 finished square feet. The page does not explain the difference, so neither set should be substituted for the other when evaluating a particular unit. It also lists the covered porch as 12 feet by 7 feet 8 inches. Ask for the current drawing and written specification for the exact configuration being quoted. Confirm whether its stated length includes the porch, which plan revision the finished-area figure applies to, and how the manufacturer defines the quoted dimensions.
Are the ceilings 11 feet high?
The 11-foot measurement appears in the tour title, but Zook’s retrieved official Outpost specification does not state a ceiling height. It therefore cannot be treated as a verified factory specification for every Outpost. Before relying on it for headroom, cabinetry, loft or fixture planning, ask Zook to confirm the finished ceiling height for the specific unit and provide a current drawing. How many people does it sleep?
The page describes Twin XL bunk beds in a walk-through room and a separate private bedroom, but it does not establish an overall sleeping capacity. It also conflicts on the private bedroom’s bed size: one description says it accommodates a king bed, while another says queen. Confirm the exact plan and bedroom dimensions rather than assuming either size. Zook Cabins’ official Outpost page

- Plan and area: Get the current floor plan and confirm which published dimensions and finished-area figure apply to the quoted unit.
- Ceiling height: Request written confirmation of the finished height; the 11-foot figure is not present in the official model specification.
- Bedroom arrangement: Confirm whether the private bedroom is laid out for a queen or king bed and check bunk and mattress dimensions.
- Included finishes and options: Zook’s broader rustic cabin page distinguishes customizable modular rustic homes from rustic log tiny homes that generally have standard finishes, with some options such as electrical packages and kitchen fixtures. Confirm which category and options apply to the Outpost quote. Zook Cabins’ rustic cabins overview
- Standards and placement: Zook says the Outpost carries an RVIA seal and is built to ANSI A119.5 standards. These manufacturer statements do not establish whether a particular site permits placement; check applicable local requirements and confirm delivery, site preparation, and utility arrangements directly with the manufacturer and relevant authorities. Zook Cabins’ official Outpost page
Zook’s broader rustic cabins page lists The Outpost as a 400-square-foot, two-bedroom, one-bathroom rustic log tiny home. Since the model page separately displays 394-square-foot and 400-square-foot figures, use the written specification for the exact unit when comparing it with other cabins.
