Compare the exact fence configuration and rip capacity, confirm the 230 V single-phase electrical requirements for the models below, and plan for the saw’s weight, dust connections and safety equipment before buying.
Compare the listed 3-hp cabinet saws
These manufacturer-listed examples share a 3-hp rating and 230 V single-phase supply, but differ in fence capacity, documented safety features and weight. Specifications apply to the configurations named below and may vary by revision or region. Manufacturer specifications describe the machines; they are not independent comparative test results.
| Model and configuration | Published power and supply | Rip capacity | Documented features | Listed weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SawStop Professional Cabinet Saw PCS31230, 52-inch configuration | 3 hp; 230 V, single phase, 13 A; NEMA 6-15P plug | 52 inches | Advertised contact-triggered brake system; 10-inch blade capacity and 5/8-inch arbor | 449 lb for the 52-inch assembly |
| SawStop PCS31230, 36-inch configuration | 3 hp; 36-inch fence configuration listed | 36 inches | Same PCS model family; verify electrical and other configuration-specific details with the product page and manual | Not stated for this configuration on the cited product page |
| SawStop PCS31230, 30-inch configuration | 3 hp; 30-inch fence configuration listed | 30 inches | Same PCS model family; verify electrical and other configuration-specific details with the product page and manual | Not stated for this configuration on the cited product page |
| Delta UNISAW 36-L352 | 3 hp; 230 V, single phase | 52 inches right of blade; 13-1/2 inches left | Rise-and-fall riving knife, split guard and dual-level dust extraction; 10-inch blade capacity | 661 lb |
| Powermatic PM2000B | 3 hp; 230 V, single phase | 50 inches | Accu-Fence, cabinet-style base, 4-inch dust port; 10-inch blade capacity | 628.8 lb net |
The SawStop PCS31230 is sold in separate 30-, 36- and 52-inch fence configurations; the 449-lb figure above is specifically for the 52-inch assembly. Its cited specification gives 230 V, single phase, 13 A and a NEMA 6-15P plug. Delta and Powermatic list their named models as 230 V single-phase machines; check the exact saw’s nameplate and installation instructions rather than assuming a shop circuit is suitable.
Choose rip capacity for the work you do
Rip capacity is the maximum distance from the blade to the fence, not a measure of motor strength or overall work support. A larger figure can help when breaking down wide sheet goods, but the practical choice depends on the stock you regularly cut, how you support it, and whether the fence and rails fit your shop.

Understand the different safety systems
SawStop PCS31230: contact-triggered brake
SawStop advertises a contact-triggered brake system for the PCS. It is a distinct system from a blade guard or riving knife. For the exact operating limits, blade and brake compatibility, and setup requirements, consult the SawStop Professional Cabinet Saw owner’s manual (February 2024).

Delta UNISAW 36-L352: riving knife and split guard
Delta lists a rise-and-fall riving knife and split guard. The company describes its tool-free split guard as allowing the riving knife to rise and fall using a lever at the front of the saw or inside the throat plate. These are manufacturer-described features, not evidence of comparative injury outcomes. Review the saw’s supplied instructions to understand use and adjustment.
Powermatic PM2000B
The cited PM2000B product listing documents an Accu-Fence and cabinet-style base, but does not establish a comparable brake or guard system in the specifications summarized here. Check the specific machine’s safety equipment and manual before deciding it meets your needs.

- 36-INCH T-GLIDE FENCE ASSEMBLY: The 36-inch T-Glide Fence & Rail are made of heavy-gauge steel for sure lockdown and reliably square cutting for years without deflection.
- SAWSTOP PATENTED SAFETY SYSTEM: Stops a spinning blade on contact with skin. The blade stops in less than 5 milliseconds, and drops below the table, minimizing a potentially life-altering injury to a mere scratch.
- UNMATCHED QUALITY: The trunnion and arbor are built for precision, strength and stability. The gas piston elevation delivers smooth and easy adjustability. Table flatness is measured diagonally at 0.010” maximum gap.
- DUST COLLECTION: 99% dust collection is delivered above the table with the available dust collection blade guard (Model # TSG-DC, sold separately), and below the table with advanced shrouding around the blade. Available Overarm Dust Collection (Model # TSA-ODC, sold separately) routes dust away from the blade and into the 4” port.
- RELIABILITY: The Control Box houses the on-off switch, power paddle, and on-board computer, and constantly checks that all systems are working to reliably keep you safe.
Check electrical fit before delivery
All three named examples are listed as 230 V single-phase machines. The cited SawStop PCS31230 52-inch configuration additionally specifies 13 A and a NEMA 6-15P plug. Delta and Powermatic listings do not supply those same details here, so compare the actual unit’s nameplate, plug and installation instructions with the circuit and receptacle available in your shop. Have electrical work assessed by a qualified professional when needed; a matching voltage label alone does not confirm a circuit is suitable.
Plan for blade, dust collection and installation
Blade fit
The cited SawStop, Delta and Powermatic models list 10-inch blade capacity. SawStop also specifies a 5/8-inch arbor for the PCS31230 configuration. Before buying a blade, verify diameter, arbor, kerf and any safety-system compatibility in the manual for the exact saw. Do not infer that every 10-inch blade is suitable.

Dust connections
Delta lists 4- and 5-inch exhaust openings, while Powermatic lists a 4-inch dust port. The SawStop product information cited here does not establish a comparable port figure. Port size alone does not demonstrate dust-capture performance; confirm the required connection and collector arrangement for the installation.
Delivery and floor space
The listed weights underscore that these are heavy machines: 449 lb for the SawStop PCS31230 52-inch assembly, 661 lb for the Delta 36-L352 and 628.8 lb net for the Powermatic PM2000B. Confirm delivery access, unloading equipment, assembly needs and the floor area required for the saw, fence rails and workpiece support before ordering. Do not assume a listed weight includes packaging or applies to another configuration.
