Kansas transportation officials approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects following the Sept. 16, 2026, letting in Topeka. The listed work spans road resurfacing, sealing, bridge replacement, intersection improvements and pedestrian and bicycle paths. The largest listed September project is a $104,745,877.68 K-10 grading, bridge and surfacing project in Douglas County.
What the September bid announcement covers
The announcement lists approved bids by county and route, with work descriptions, project lengths where stated, contractors and bid amounts. A letting is the bid-opening event; the Sept. 16 date is distinct from the announcement’s Oct. 2, 2026, publication date.
Some entries may bundle multiple projects based on proximity and type of work. The figures below are individual listed bid amounts, not a published statewide total. Amounts also should not be read as direct comparisons of project scale: sealing, bridge work, paths and multi-mile resurfacing involve different scopes.
