Who is inviting bids, and where is the project?
The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development issued the invitation for the proposed Bush Lot Market in Region Two. The Department of Public Information published the notice on October 2, 2026. It identifies the project as construction of a new market and divides it into three lots, without specifying the scope of each lot. Read the official announcement.

The notice set the bid deadline for October 20, 2026. It directed bidders to submit their bids to the Chairman of the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board at the Ministry of Finance, Main and Urquhart Streets, Georgetown. Bids were scheduled to open at 09:00 at that same address.

What does the notice say about the three lots?
It confirms that the project is divided into three lots, but does not identify the construction work, quantities, or other requirements assigned to each one. Contractors would need the tender documents for that lot-by-lot scope; the public announcement alone does not establish what each package includes.
What does the government say the market is intended to achieve?
The government presents the construction as part of a wider public-infrastructure effort. It says the market is intended to improve infrastructure and provide vendors with safer, more suitable places to sell. The announcement reports these as aims and expected benefits; it provides no measurements or results demonstrating that they have been achieved.

What remains unspecified?
The announcement does not state the estimated project cost, the value of any eventual award, a construction completion date, or the scope of the individual lots. It also does not report outcome statistics. Those details would require the tender documents or a later procurement update.
The same announcement refers to separate market tenders at Soesdyke Junction in Region Four, Skeldon, and Port Mourant in Region Six. They are distinct projects, and the notice does not establish that they share Bush Lot’s scope. Separately, the National Procurement and Tender Administration’s tenders awarded listing includes other market works in 2026, such as Zeelugt and New Amsterdam; those entries do not establish an award or amount for Bush Lot.
