LG Sound Suite is a modular home-theater system built around the H7 soundbar and Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. It combines the H7 with wireless M5 and M7 surround speakers and a W7 subwoofer, allowing LG to describe multiple system layouts rather than one fixed speaker package. LG says the H7 can also connect to any television over HDMI, while TV-led FlexConnect operation depends on compatible LG TV models and software.
What LG Sound Suite includes
The system has four announced components:
- H7 soundbar: the lead device for the soundbar-led system and the component LG says can be used with any TV through HDMI.
- M5 wireless surround speaker: an optional rear or surround module. LG also says it can operate as a standalone Wi-Fi speaker.
- M7 wireless surround speaker: a larger alternative surround module, likewise specified by LG for standalone Wi-Fi playback.
- W7 wireless subwoofer: the low-frequency module for adding bass to the system.
LG describes a maximum 13.1.7-channel home-theater arrangement when the components are combined with a compatible LG premium TV. That is a company-described capability, not an independent measurement of the system’s performance.
How Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is intended to work
Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is the central feature. Dolby describes it as adapting the sound from wireless speakers to the television’s layout and the listener’s position, so speakers can be placed more freely than in a conventional fixed surround arrangement. A shelf, side wall or corner placement is therefore part of the design brief rather than automatically disqualifying the speaker.
Placement flexibility does not mean every room will sound identical. The result still depends on room shape, speaker positions, listening position, calibration and the content being played. Dolby calls H7 the first soundbar system with Atmos FlexConnect; that is a product-category claim from Dolby, not an independent market test.

LG’s additional tuning features
- Sound Follow: LG says ultra-wideband technology helps direct sound toward the viewing position.
- Room Calibration Pro: a calibration system intended to account for the room and speaker arrangement.
- AI audio processing: LG’s processing layer for adapting or enhancing playback.
- AI Sound Pro+: LG says this requires a select LG TV paired with H7.
LG also specifies 24-bit/96 kHz standalone Wi-Fi playback for M5 and M7 speakers. That is LG’s published playback specification; it does not by itself establish a particular audible advantage in a home theater.
H7 with an LG or non-LG television
Using H7 with a non-LG TV
Yes. LG says H7 can be used with any television via HDMI. This is the straightforward path when the TV is not one of the LG models that supports TV-led FlexConnect. The H7 remains the lead device, with M5, M7 and W7 added as the chosen modules.
Using a compatible LG TV as the lead device
LG’s February 3, 2026 update says FlexConnect support was enabled through software updates on the 2025 OLED G5, C5 and CS5 televisions. In this TV-led path, LG says the ecosystem supports up to 22 configurations. A buyer should check the exact regional model number and installed firmware before assuming that support is present; availability can vary by market and software version.

Why the configuration numbers changed
LG used different counts as the product information expanded. They refer to supported combinations of devices and lead-device paths, not to a laboratory rating or a promise that every combination has the same channel layout.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute| Announcement or update | Configuration figure | What it describes |
|---|---|---|
| December 18, 2025 launch announcement | 27 | LG’s original total configuration count for the H7-led Sound Suite announcement. |
| December 18, 2025 launch announcement | Up to 13.1.7 channels | LG’s potential full home-theater arrangement. |
| February 3, 2026 update | 28 | Revised count for H7-led configurations. |
| February 3, 2026 update | Up to 22 | Configurations using a supported LG TV as the lead device. |
| February 3, 2026 update | Up to 50 | LG’s combined figure for the broader H7-led and TV-led ecosystem. |
The change from 27 to 28 is an update to LG’s published count, not evidence that an earlier unit was defective or that a new speaker was necessarily added. The later figure includes the newly described TV-led route.

How to choose a configuration
Start with the H7
Choose H7 first if you want a soundbar-led system, need compatibility with a non-LG TV, or prefer to add speakers over time. HDMI connection to the TV is the stated baseline.

Select M5 or M7 modules for the positions your room can actually support. FlexConnect is intended to accommodate less-than-ideal placement, but calibration still needs an honest description of where each speaker sits and where people listen.

Add W7 when bass is the priority
W7 is the optional low-frequency addition. It is not required to use H7 with wireless surround speakers, so it can be left out of a smaller room or added later.
Use the TV-led path only after checking the TV
For a 2025 OLED G5, C5 or CS5, install the required software update and confirm the model’s regional support before planning around the up-to-22 TV-led configurations. If the TV is not supported, use H7 as the lead device instead.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the announcement does—and does not—prove
- It establishes LG’s announced component lineup, connection paths and configuration counts.
- It establishes LG’s US launch prices as of January 6, 2026.
- It does not provide independent listening tests against another soundbar or traditional AV receiver system.
- It does not show that every listed placement produces identical Atmos performance.
- It does not establish current retailer pricing, inventory or promotional availability.
For a meaningful comparison with another home-audio setup, compare the supported TV and platform, wired and wireless connections, required setup, speaker types, expansion path and total price for an equivalent number of speakers. The announcement material alone cannot supply an independent sound-quality winner.
