US MSRP ranges from $2,299 for the X315 to $4,999 for the X390. Its appeal is a boundary-wire-free setup using EFLS 3.0 positioning, Network RTK corrections, digital mapping and app-controlled mowing. The important qualification is that “wire-free” still depends on satellite visibility, Network RTK availability and cellular connectivity, while the premium machines still need maintenance and occasional supervision.

What is the Navimow X3 Series?
The X3 name covers four US models. Choose by usable mowable turf and property layout—not simply total acreage. Disconnected lawns, narrow gates, slopes, obstacles and limited mowing windows all reduce practical capacity.

These figures are Segway’s recommended capacities and specifications, not a guarantee that every property of the same size will be completed efficiently. The X390 is the largest X3-series model; “X3” should not be read as a single product name.

How wire-free mowing works
No buried perimeter cable
The mower uses a digital map rather than a buried boundary wire. In the app, you define mowing zones, no-go areas and routes between areas. Segway describes setup as a three-step process that can take roughly an hour without professional installation, but property complexity can make the job longer.
EFLS 3.0 and Network RTK
EFLS 3.0 combines high-precision satellite positioning with Network RTK corrections. Where supported coverage is available, Network RTK can remove the need to install a local GNSS antenna. Check the address coverage tool before buying: the system is not signal-independent. Dense tree canopy, tall buildings, narrow corridors, divided lots and weak cellular service can cause degraded accuracy, pauses or mapping problems.

Included 4G service is model-dependent: the comparison page lists one year for X315, two for X330, three for X350 and five for X390. The available product information does not establish current renewal pricing after those periods.

The slope figures are not interchangeable. A mower may climb an interior slope that it cannot reliably follow beside a retaining wall, drop-off, pond, gravel strip or other hazardous edge. Measure the steepest sections and the boundaries around them.

What does “mows smarter” mean?
Systematic mowing and app control
Instead of wandering randomly, the X3 follows planned mowing patterns, returns to charge automatically, manages multiple zones and receives over-the-air software updates. The app is also where you correct maps, adjust no-go areas and review mower status.
Object detection
A 300-degree RGB-and-ToF sensing system is designed to detect objects ahead of the mower. A Techlicious launch report described a Segway demonstration in which the system identified more than 200 obstacle types, including toys, stones and tree roots. That demonstration is not independent testing and does not guarantee detection of every small, dark, moving or partially hidden object.

Security and controls
Features include GPS theft tracking, PIN protection, a lift alarm, an anti-theft alarm and a child lock. These reduce risk but do not guarantee recovery or make an unattended lawn safe. Protect the account, use the PIN and keep the operating area controlled.
Is the X3 really faster?
There are three different claims to separate:
- Travel speed: 2.6 ft/s on X315 and X330; 3.3 ft/s on X350 and X390.
- Runtime: 120 to 240 minutes per full charge, depending on model.
- Property throughput: Segway says the X3 is twice as efficient as the industry average, can cover up to 1,200 square meters per charge and can mow 5,000 square meters within 24 hours under stated conditions.
The two-times efficiency statement is Segway’s claim; the Techlicious report repeated it after a demonstration but did not publish controlled comparative measurements. Real throughput varies with lawn geometry, charging, weather, slopes, obstacles, no-go zones, narrow passages and edge work. The 1,200-square-meter and 5,000-square-meter figures are operating claims, not replacements for the model capacity ratings in the table.

Slopes and terrain
Rear-wheel drive, the six-blade anti-clogging system and IP66 construction support demanding lawns, but exposed roots, loose gravel, abrupt transitions and drop-offs still require careful mapping. “Self-adaptive weather resilience” does not mean unrestricted operation on saturated soil. Follow the current operating guidance for rain and wet grass.

Edges
A robot can approach a mapped boundary without cutting every blade beside a wall, fence, curb or planting bed. Segway sells an X3-compatible trimmer intended to handle this remaining manual work; its US product page showed a $299.99 price when viewed and was marked sold out. Children, pets and wildlife
Object detection and alarms are safety aids, not a substitute for supervision. Schedule mowing when children and pets are off the lawn, secure small animals and remove toys, hoses, branches and pet waste. Follow the owner’s manual and local safety requirements.

- X315: Best starting point for a straightforward lawn around half an acre.
- X330: Suits roughly one acre, with more battery headroom than the X315.
- X350: A practical choice near 1.5 acres or where slopes, obstacles and restricted mowing windows demand reserve capacity.
- X390: The choice for large properties approaching 2.5 acres, provided the site has dependable RTK/cellular conditions and navigable connections between zones.
Leaving capacity headroom is sensible. Heavy growth, wet weather, frequent obstacle avoidance and areas the mower cannot reach autonomously can make a machine bought exactly to the acreage limit feel undersized.

Maintenance does not disappear
- Inspect and replace blades as they wear.
- Clean grass from the deck, wheels and sensors.
- Keep the charging station clear and check its transitions.
- Review maps, no-go zones and firmware after landscaping changes or updates.
- Remove clutter before each mowing schedule.
- Prepare the mower and battery for seasonal storage according to the current manual.
- Trim edges manually or with the compatible accessory.
How the X3 compares with other choices
Smaller Segway models
For a lawn below roughly half an acre, the X3 may be unnecessary. Segway’s US catalog listed the i105 at $999; H Series models were listed from $1,899 upward, although some were marked sold out. Check current stock and specifications at Segway’s product catalog.
Newer X4 models
Segway’s official dealer page now shows X430 and X450 models labeled new. The surfaced information does not provide a complete X4-versus-X3 specification table, so do not assume the newer family is universally better. Compare capacity, connectivity, support and price for your property before ordering. See Segway’s dealer page.
Wired and other wire-free mowers
A traditional boundary-wire mower can be preferable where satellite coverage is poor or a predictable physical perimeter matters more than installation convenience. Other wire-free brands, including Worx, Eufy, Husqvarna Automower and STIHL iMOW, deserve model-specific checks; current prices and specifications are not established here.
Verdict
The Navimow X3 is a compelling premium option for large, complicated lawns when avoiding buried wire, using systematic mapping and reducing routine supervision justify $2,299–$4,999. It is a poor value for small lawns, properties without dependable Network RTK or cellular conditions, sites full of unmappable transitions, or buyers expecting perfect edges and zero maintenance. Before purchasing, verify coverage, measure the difficult slopes and routes, choose a model with capacity headroom and compare Segway’s newer X4 range.
