The 3 Coffee Makers Selected as 2025 Favorites: JURA, De’Longhi, and Breville

The JURA J10, De’Longhi Dedica Duo, and Breville Luxe Brewer Thermal are three distinct 2025 coffee-maker favorites: premium automatic espresso, compact budget espresso, and programmable batch drip coffee.

The three favorites cover three different needs: the JURA J10 for premium automatic espresso, the De’Longhi Dedica Duo for compact and more affordable espresso, and the Breville the Luxe Brewer Thermal for programmable batch coffee. They should not be treated as interchangeable or as a universal ranking. The selections reflect the original reviewer’s 2025 testing and review history, not a new hands-on test conducted for this article.

There is no single best coffee maker here because these three machines serve different jobs. The 2025 favorites covered a premium automatic espresso machine, a compact budget espresso machine, and a programmable batch brewer. Choose the JURA J10 for maximum automation and drink variety, the De’Longhi Dedica Duo for affordable hands-on espresso and cold brew, or the Breville the Luxe Brewer Thermal for a full pot of programmable filter coffee.

This is a category-based roundup of the three machines selected in a 2025 TechRadar review. The original selections came from the reviewer’s stated testing and review experience; they are not presented here as a new hands-on test or as universal rankings for every coffee drinker. Product prices, stock, regional names, and retailer terms can change, so verify those details before buying.

Machine Best for What stands out Main compromise
JURA J10 Automatic espresso and milk drinks 42 hot and cold specialties, Cold Brew, Sweet Foam, automatic grinding and extraction Premium price and less hands-on control
De’Longhi Dedica Duo Accessible espresso at home Compact footprint, steam wand, programmed espresso and cold-brew drinks Requires more involvement than the JURA
Breville the Luxe Brewer Thermal Programmable batch coffee 12-cup capacity, thermal carafe, custom brewing controls, cold-brew mode, SCA certification It is a drip brewer, not an espresso machine

1. JURA J10: the luxury pick for automatic espresso variety

The JURA J10 is the obvious choice of these three if convenience matters more than purchase price. It is a super-automatic specialty coffee machine: it grinds the beans, handles extraction, and prepares a wide range of hot and cold drinks with minimal manual work.

  • COFFEE ON-THE-GO: This coffee maker is portable and works on all electric, ceramic and gas stovetops (including propane) making it the perfect camping accessory. Available in 5 different sizes.

JURA says the J10 can prepare 42 hot and cold specialty coffees. Its feature set includes a P.A.G.2+ grinder, Coffee Eye cup sensing, one-touch milk-system cleaning, Cold Brew, and Sweet Foam. The latter is designed for milk or plant-based milk that can be subtly flavored with syrup, which makes the machine particularly appealing to people who regularly drink flavored lattes, cappuccinos, or iced milk drinks.

Why choose the JURA J10?

  • You want variety without barista-level preparation. Espresso-based drinks, milk beverages, and cold options are available from an automated system rather than a separate grinder, espresso machine, and milk-steaming routine.
  • You drink cold coffee. JURA’s Cold Extraction Process uses cold water with freshly ground coffee and pulsed pressure. That is a specific brewing system, not merely hot coffee poured over ice.
  • You want milk-drink flexibility. Sweet Foam is intended for sweetened or flavored milk foam, including plant-based milk.
  • You value a tidier workflow. Automatic grinding, cup sensing, and one-touch milk-system cleaning reduce the number of steps between turning on the machine and drinking.

What to consider before buying

The J10’s central drawback is its price. The original article reported a publication-time list price of £1,795 / AU$3,990, approximately US$2,300, but those figures are historical rather than a current price promise. Check the current price, regional configuration, warranty, seller, and service arrangements before treating it as a purchase option.

It is also important to separate convenience from control. The J10 is designed to automate the process. Someone who enjoys dialing in a grinder, tamping a portafilter, and manually steaming milk may prefer the Dedica Duo even though it offers fewer automated drink options.

Best fit: a household that wants a premium, highly automated espresso system with hot drinks, cold brew, milk beverages, and Sweet Foam.

Commerce note: If you are comparing current listings, look for the JURA J10 automatic coffee machine through an authorized seller and confirm the exact regional model and support terms. The J10 is an expensive appliance, so price and warranty verification matter more than a small headline discount.

2. De’Longhi Dedica Duo: the budget espresso favorite

The De’Longhi Dedica Duo is the most accessible espresso recommendation in this group. It is aimed at people who want to make espresso and steam milk at home without moving to a large super-automatic machine or a much more elaborate manual setup.

atatix Espresso Machine with Milk Frother, 20 Bar Pressure Espresso Maker
  • 【Make Favorite Espresso Coffee by Yourself】The espresso machine with milk frother allows you to prepare all your favorite espresso-based coffees. You can enjoy a barista-brewed latte, cappuccino or macchiato at home. This compact espresso coffee maker is perfect for home or office use
  • 【Professional 20 Bar Pressure System】The 20-bar system ensures optimal 9-10 bar pressure is maintained throughout the shot, fully saturating the coffee powder to extract deeper, more complex flavors and that coveted golden crema—turning your kitchen into a specialty coffee shop.
  • 【NTC Precision Temp Control Extract】 Solve inconsistent flavor for good. This espresso machine temperature control system locks onto the 90-96°C sweet spot and preheats in just 30 seconds. Whether you're extracting fruity light roasts or rich dark roasts, every shot accurately reveals the beans’ true profile.
  • 【Making Dense Milk Foam】From Flat Milk to Velvety Microfoam in Seconds. Our powerful steam wand delivers dry, focused steam—not weak bubbles. This gives you dense, glossy microfoam with the perfect texture for latte art and a naturally sweet flavor that melds seamlessly with your espresso.
  • 【Auto Espresso & Manual Extraction】This espresso machine has added a function of manual extraction. You can customize the extraction time to get coffee of different concentrations. Manual function max takes 102 seconds and will get 180-350 grams of coffee. Espresso Mode will auto extraction 28 seconds to get a single shot espresso(25-40 grams), or 42 seconds to get a double shot espresso(55-85 grams)

De’Longhi’s US information identifies espresso, double espresso, and cold brew as programmed drinks. The machine also has a digital top display, a drink-selection interface, a steam wand, dual heating, and nine-bar extraction. De’Longhi says it reaches operating temperature in 25 seconds and can prepare cold brew in under five minutes. Those are manufacturer claims, so actual results will depend on the coffee, dose, water, temperature, and workflow.

Why choose the Dedica Duo?

  • You want hands-on espresso without a large machine. You still participate in the brewing process, but the programmed interface keeps the basic operation approachable.
  • You want to steam milk. The steam wand gives you more involvement and control than a machine that only dispenses preset milk drinks.
  • You have limited counter space. The US launch information describes the machine as approximately 5.9 inches wide, making its compact design one of its most practical advantages.
  • You want cold brew as well as espresso. The dedicated cold-brew function makes it more versatile than a conventional entry-level espresso-only machine.

Where it differs from the JURA J10

The Dedica Duo is not a smaller JURA J10. It requires more user involvement, and its drink selection is narrower. You should expect to manage more of the process yourself, particularly when preparing milk drinks. That trade-off is also the reason it can make sense for a buyer who wants to learn or enjoy espresso preparation rather than automate every step.

The original article reported a publication-time list price of $299.95 / £279.99. Treat those as historical reference points, not current pricing. Retailer stock, regional model numbers, and included accessories can vary. De’Longhi’s US support material identifies the stainless-steel US model as EC890M.

Best fit: someone who wants a compact and comparatively affordable espresso machine with manual milk steaming and a programmed cold-brew option.

Commerce note: The clearest exact-model search is De’Longhi Dedica Duo Espresso Machine. Before purchasing, confirm that the listing is the US model you want, includes the expected accessories, and is covered by appropriate manufacturer or retailer support.

3. Breville the Luxe Brewer Thermal: the drip-coffee favorite

The Breville the Luxe Brewer Thermal is the right recommendation for a completely different coffee routine: brewing a substantial carafe of filter coffee on a schedule. In the UK, the Breville brand is known as Sage, so regional shoppers may see the same brewer described as the Sage Luxe Brewer Thermal.

Breville lists a 12-cup, 60-fluid-ounce capacity, a removable water tank, an integrated Claro Swiss water filter, delayed start, cold-brew and custom settings, and both cone- and flat-bottom filter options. The brewer offers control over settings including bloom, temperature, and flow, giving it more flexibility than a basic timer-equipped drip machine.

Why choose the Luxe Brewer Thermal?

  • You usually make a pot rather than a single espresso. Its large capacity is better suited to families, shared workspaces, or anyone who drinks several cups through the morning.
  • You want coffee ready at a set time. Delayed Auto Start supports scheduled brewing.
  • You prefer a thermal carafe. Breville rates the dual-wall carafe to keep coffee above 150°F / 65°C for up to four hours. That is the manufacturer’s specification, not a guarantee that every brew will remain equally enjoyable for four hours.
  • You want more brewing control. Custom bloom, temperature, flow, and filter choices provide more variables to adjust than a conventional drip machine.
  • You are interested in cold brew. The cold-brew setting is a useful differentiator for a brewer whose primary job is hot filter coffee.

The Specialty Coffee Association lists the Luxe Brewer Thermal in its certified home-brewer directory, and Breville says the machine meets SCA Golden Cup standards. Certification and manufacturer specifications are useful evidence about design and brewing parameters, but they do not eliminate the importance of coffee freshness, grind size, water quality, and recipe choices.

The original reviewer also reported that the thermal pitcher kept coffee hot for more than five hours during testing, including when partly filled. That is a first-person test observation from the source review, not an independently verified performance guarantee. Breville’s stated rating is more conservative: up to four hours above 150°F / 65°C.

Best fit: a drinker who wants programmable batch coffee, a thermal carafe, a large capacity, and more control than an entry-level drip brewer.

Commerce note: The natural product search is Breville Luxe Brewer Thermal or 12-cup thermal coffee maker. Breville’s US page listed the machine at $349.95 in the supplied research, but current price and inventory should be checked before publication.

Which of the three should you buy?

If your priority is… Choose… Why
One-touch espresso, milk drinks, and cold beverages JURA J10 It automates grinding and extraction and offers the broadest drink menu, including Cold Brew and Sweet Foam.
Affordable, compact espresso with manual steaming De’Longhi Dedica Duo It occupies far less space than a typical super-automatic and retains hands-on espresso and milk preparation.
A programmable full pot of filter coffee Breville Luxe Brewer Thermal It combines 12-cup capacity, a thermal carafe, delayed start, custom settings, and cold-brew capability.
Maximum automation regardless of price JURA J10 Its feature set is built around convenience and drink variety rather than manual control.
The lowest-cost route into this particular selection De’Longhi Dedica Duo It is the budget-oriented pick, although current retailer prices must be checked.

Do not compare these as if they were interchangeable

The JURA and De’Longhi are espresso-focused machines; the Breville is a batch brewer. A 12-cup drip machine is not a substitute for an espresso machine, and a compact espresso machine is not the practical choice for someone who needs a carafe for several people every morning.

Mr. Coffee 4-Shot Steam Espresso Cappuccino and Latte Maker with Stainless Steel Frothing Pitcher
  • Steam Brewing: Powerful steam-brewing process brews dark, rich espresso, great for making Cuban coffee
  • Extra-Large Portafilter: Brew up to 4 shots of rich espresso with the extra-large portafilter
  • Frothing Wand: Integrated frothing wand easily froths milk for delicious cappuccinos and lattes
  • Water Pitcher: Water pitcher features measurement markings for consistent brewing and steaming
  • Measuring Scoop: Measuring scoop for easy coffee scooping and leveling

Similarly, “cold brew” does not necessarily mean the same thing across the products. The JURA uses its own cold-extraction process for specialty drinks, the Dedica Duo has a programmed cold-brew function, and the Luxe Brewer Thermal includes a cold-brew mode within a batch-brewing platform. Compare the type and quantity of drink you want, not just the presence of the words “cold brew” in a specification list.

Budget for the parts that keep a coffee maker working

The machine is only part of the ownership cost. The Luxe Brewer Thermal uses an integrated water filter and supports replaceable filters; Breville also lists cleaning tablets, descaling products, filter baskets, and other maintenance supplies. Use supplies specified for the exact model rather than assuming that every replacement part fits every Breville brewer.

Fresh coffee beans are another sensible follow-on purchase, especially for espresso machines and any brewer with enough control to expose differences in grind and freshness. For JURA owners interested in Sweet Foam drinks, coffee syrup and suitable dairy or plant-based milk are relevant additions, but they are optional ingredients rather than required accessories.

Bottom line

These 2025 favorites are best understood as three answers to three different coffee routines. Buy the JURA J10 when automated variety and premium convenience justify the cost. Choose the De’Longhi Dedica Duo when you want a compact, more affordable way to make espresso, steam milk, and prepare cold brew yourself. Pick the Breville the Luxe Brewer Thermal when your priority is a programmable, thermal-carafe brewer for a full pot of filter coffee.

Check current price, stock, warranty, included accessories, and regional naming before ordering. The right choice depends less on which machine sounds most impressive and more on whether you make espresso drinks, cold beverages, or a pot of drip coffee most often.
