BAUER is Harbor Freight’s 20V cordless tool line, and its catalog includes more than drills and saws. For construction crews, maintenance work and shop tasks, six less-obvious options stand out because each addresses a distinct job: fastening in tight spaces, moving air, powering small devices, cleaning up, or making controlled cuts. These are use-case picks, not a tested ranking; check the current listing and tool manual for configuration and compatibility before buying.
What to know about BAUER before choosing a tool
BAUER is a Harbor Freight brand. Its official BAUER brand site describes a 20V cordless lineup, while Harbor Freight’s cordless-tool catalog lists specialty products alongside familiar power tools. Catalogs change, so a listing is evidence that a product is offered in the catalog, not a guarantee of stock at a particular store.
BAUER batteries are described as compatible with BAUER cordless tools. That does not establish cross-brand compatibility. Check the specific tool listing and battery requirements, especially if you are building a kit or already own BAUER batteries. Some tools may be sold tool-only, while others may be available in a kit; confirm exactly what is included.

1. Cordless ratchet: faster repeated fastening in accessible tight spots
A cordless ratchet is aimed at repeated nut, bolt, washer and screw removal or installation where a hand ratchet would take many turns. It can be useful for equipment service, assembly and maintenance, particularly when access is awkward but the tool head can still reach the fastener. It is not a substitute for a calibrated torque wrench when a fastener must be tightened to a specified torque.

In an April 29, 2024 announcement, Harbor Freight stated the ratchet has a high-power motor delivering a maximum torque of 40 ft-lb and speeds up to 225 RPM. Those are vendor specifications, not independent test results, and should not be read as a guaranteed output under every condition. See the Harbor Freight announcement.
2. Jet fan blower: move loose debris without dragging a cord
A cordless blower can be convenient for clearing loose debris from a workbench, equipment, or an area where sweeping is awkward. The BAUER catalog lists a jet fan blower, but the cited catalog does not establish airflow, runtime, noise, or suitability for a particular cleanup job. Use it only where blowing debris is appropriate, and avoid sending dust toward people, finished surfaces, or equipment that should not be exposed to it.

3. 190-watt battery inverter: portable power for modest loads
Harbor Freight’s BAUER battery catalog lists a 190-watt power source battery inverter. It offers a way to draw power from a compatible BAUER battery for devices that stay within the inverter’s limits. Before relying on it at a jobsite, check the device’s power demand, the inverter’s output details, battery runtime and any restrictions in the product instructions. A 190-watt listing does not mean it can run larger tools or serve as a generator replacement.
4. Hand vacuum: quick, localized cleanup
A cordless hand vacuum can help with small, contained cleanup tasks in a vehicle, shop, or around a work area. Its value is convenience rather than replacing a jobsite vacuum or dust extractor. The catalog listing alone does not establish filtration performance, capacity, runtime, or suitability for hazardous dust; consult the product documentation and use the correct dust-control equipment for the material involved.

5. Oscillating multi-tool: detail work where larger tools are clumsy
The BAUER cordless catalog lists a 20V brushless, variable-speed oscillating multi-tool. This tool format is useful when a controlled, localized cut or trim is needed and a circular saw or reciprocating saw lacks clearance. It can also be considered for detail work, depending on the blade and material.
Do not assume every oscillating blade will fit. The cited official listing did not specify the blade interface, so verify the mount in the exact product listing or manual, along with the blade’s material rating and intended use. A suitable accessory category to investigate is oscillating multi-tool blades; confirm fit before purchase.

6. BAUER battery and charger: the practical foundation for the cordless picks
A battery and charger may be less exciting than a standalone tool, but they determine whether cordless equipment is ready for work and how easily it can be shared across a BAUER setup. Harbor Freight lists BAUER 20V batteries and chargers, and says BAUER batteries work with BAUER cordless tools in its battery and charger catalog. Match the battery to the tool’s requirements and the work duration; do not infer compatibility with another brand from the voltage label alone.

- For repetitive fasteners: consider the ratchet, but use the proper torque-control method for final tightening when specifications matter.
- For clearing loose debris: look at the blower and confirm the job is appropriate for blowing rather than extraction.
- For small electronics: check whether the inverter’s stated output fits the load and expected runtime.
- For small cleanup: the hand vacuum is the most task-specific option; verify it is suitable for the debris involved.
- For cuts in tight spaces: consider the multi-tool after confirming blade fit and material rating.
- For an existing BAUER collection: confirm battery compatibility, then compare tool-only and kit listings so you do not buy accessories or batteries you already have.
What the catalog does—and does not—establish
Harbor Freight announced a BAUER 20V six-tool combo kit on August 5, 2024, but that dated announcement does not prove the kit is currently available. Its ratchet announcement said the battery platform was compatible with over 70 BAUER 20V products at that time; product counts can change. The official BAUER site also describes the lineup as having “over 65 items,” a catalog count that may change rather than a lasting measure of range.
