Set the speed for the material and operation
The manual for item 68696 advises starting at the lowest setting, 8,000 RPM. It says speeds of 15,000 RPM or less are best for cleaning, polishing, plastics, precious metal, and delicate materials; higher speeds are intended for drilling, carving, cutting, shaping, and routing. Do not change speed while the tool is running. Switch it off and unplug it before setup procedures, and follow the manual supplied with your specific tool.
