Stuff’s “101 gadgets” smart-home feature is not a list of 101 smart-home products. It is a 10-product category feature published on 18 November 2025 as part of Stuff’s wider 101 best gadgets series. Its selection ranges from robot vacuums and lawn mowers to connected grills, lighting, air treatment and fragrance.
The most worthwhile choices are the products that remove a recurring chore—cleaning, mowing or monitoring cooking temperatures. App control and RGB lighting are less compelling if they add cost, cloud dependence or maintenance without solving a real problem.

What is actually on Stuff’s 2025 smart-home list?
The source feature names these 10 products:
- Samsung Bespoke Jet Ultra
- Segway Navimow X330E
- PeckPerk Smart Bird Feeder
- Ooni Koda 2 Max
- Weber Searwood XL
- SwitchBot Air Purifier Table
- Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo
- Nanoleaf Blocks
- Roborock Saros 10
- ScentAir Whisper
That distinction matters when comparing the page with the headline. The wider “101” branding covers multiple technology categories; the smart-home feature itself contains 10 named products. It is also an editorial showcase rather than a transparent comparative test with consistent pricing, subscription costs, long-term reliability data or independent measurements. Stuff discloses that its “Buy now” links may earn commission.
Some entries are conventional smart-home equipment, while others are better described as connected lifestyle products. The Weber Searwood XL has explicit Wi-Fi and Bluetooth controls; the Ooni Koda 2 Max is primarily a large gas pizza oven whose appearance in a smart-home list reflects the broader meaning of connected-home technology.

Stuff’s listed specifications should be treated as manufacturer or editorial claims unless an independent test is specifically identified. Figures such as suction pressure, filtration percentages, maximum temperature and battery life are not automatically comparable between brands.
Cleaning and household automation
Samsung Bespoke Jet Ultra
The Bespoke Jet Ultra is a premium cordless vacuum with an All-in-One Clean Station that charges the vacuum and empties its dust container. Stuff reports a claimed 400W suction figure, up to 100 hours of stamina and 99.999% multi-layer filtration.
The useful smart feature is not remote control. It is automated maintenance: the dock reduces the need to empty the vacuum manually and keeps it ready for the next job. That can make a premium cordless cleaner more convenient in a busy household.
However, “up to 100 hours” should not be read as normal cleaning time. Runtime depends on the power mode, battery configuration and attachment. Likewise, Samsung’s “most powerful” positioning should remain attributed to Samsung unless supported by a common independent test. Check the exact regional model at Samsung’s vacuum range.
Budget for replacement dust bags, filters and eventually a battery. A cordless vacuum may also be less suitable as the only cleaner in a large home, particularly where deep carpet cleaning or extended sessions are common.
Best for: buyers who value a tidy, automated charging and emptying station more than the lowest ownership cost.
Roborock Saros 10
The Saros 10 is the more ambitious cleaning machine in the list: a robot vacuum and mop with a self-emptying dock, dual spinning mops, AI obstacle recognition and a retractable navigation puck intended to help it pass beneath low furniture. Stuff reports a 22,000Pa suction rating.
Mapping, scheduled cleaning and automated docking are genuinely useful smart-home functions. Obstacle recognition may reduce encounters with cables and objects, but it does not make floor preparation unnecessary. Robot cleaners can still struggle with clutter, liquid spills, tangled cables, thresholds and small objects that the sensors fail to classify.
Pa figures should not be used as a direct league table across manufacturers. Cleaning performance also depends on brush design, airflow, floor type, navigation and software. Check the exact model and dock functions in your region through Roborock’s official site.
The dock needs floor space and regular attention. Mop washing, dirty-water handling, filters, bags, brushes and cleaning solution all create continuing work. Mapping household rooms and using cameras or other sensors also raises privacy questions. Before buying, check what data is stored, whether maps can be deleted and what basic functions remain if the cloud service or Wi-Fi connection fails.
Best for: households with mostly clear floors that want the highest level of automated vacuuming and mopping. It is a poor fit if you expect maintenance-free operation.

Garden and wildlife
Segway Navimow X330E
The Navimow X330E is a wire-free robotic lawn mower using GPS, with weather-related functions and anti-theft features including GPS tracking and alarms. “Wire-free” does not mean installation-free: the mower still needs a suitable charging position, mapped boundaries, exclusion zones and reliable positioning.
Large, open lawns are the natural use case. Buildings, dense trees, narrow passages, steep slopes and irregular garden sections can affect GPS performance or require careful planning. Confirm whether the regional model needs a reference station, cellular service, subscription or additional positioning equipment before purchase. The official starting point is Segway Navimow.
IP protection and anti-theft tracking improve resilience and recovery prospects, but they do not make autonomous machinery safe to leave unattended around children or pets. Inspect the lawn for toys, cables, holes and other hazards, and follow the manufacturer’s limits for slopes and operating conditions.
Best for: owners of sufficiently large, open lawns who are comfortable planning boundaries and maintaining outdoor machinery.

PeckPerk Smart Bird Feeder
The PeckPerk feeder combines a bird feeder with a 2K camera, AI species recognition, a 5,200mAh battery, solar assistance and squirrel alerts. It is less a home-automation device than a connected wildlife-monitoring product.
The appeal is immediate: the camera can make garden wildlife visible and the recognition software can help identify visiting species. But AI classification is not infallible. Species coverage, accuracy, cloud storage, subscription terms and performance during dull weather should be checked before relying on the feature.
A camera pointed at a private garden can still capture neighbours, visitors or public areas. Review account security, image retention and deletion controls. Solar assistance also does not guarantee indefinite operation, especially in shaded gardens or during poor weather.
There is physical maintenance too. Feeders need frequent cleaning, and food can attract rodents or spread disease if left dirty. Squirrel alerts do not eliminate those problems.

Connected outdoor cooking
Ooni Koda 2 Max
The Ooni Koda 2 Max is a large gas pizza oven with a 24-inch cooking area, a reported maximum temperature of 500°C, a built-in thermometer and a claimed cooking time of as little as 60 seconds for a pizza.
Those features make it useful outdoor cooking equipment, but its smart-home credentials are limited. The main buying decisions are cooking capacity, heat-up time, gas supply, safe placement and whether you will actually cook often enough to justify its size. Ooni’s “60 seconds” claim depends on preparation, dough, preheating and cooking conditions; it should not be treated as a universal result.

Gas pizza ovens must be used outdoors in a properly ventilated, manufacturer-approved location—not in a kitchen, garage or enclosed patio. Allow the specified clearances, use the correct gas connection and keep children away from hot surfaces. The official product page is Ooni’s Koda 2 Max listing.

Weber Searwood XL
The Searwood XL is the genuinely connected cooking appliance in this pair. It is a wood-pellet grill with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, digital controls, a built-in fuel gauge and the Weber Connect app. Remote temperature monitoring and automated pellet feeding can make long, slow cooks more repeatable.
Connectivity is useful when you need alerts while preparing other food, but it does not remove the need for supervision. The grill still requires electricity, pellets, cleaning and protection from the elements. App functions, remote-control limits and pellet consumption vary by model and region, so verify the exact version through Weber’s official pellet-grill range.
Compared with a basic charcoal grill, the Searwood XL introduces motors, electronics and software that can require more maintenance. A Wi-Fi outage may remove remote monitoring while leaving manual controls available; confirm that behaviour in the manual before relying on an alert for temperature-critical cooking.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

Air, cooling and scent
SwitchBot Air Purifier Table
The Air Purifier Table combines furniture, ambient lighting and air filtration. Stuff reports a 99.97% particle-removal claim, a carbon filter for odours, 10-colour lighting and quiet operation.
The furniture format could reduce visual clutter in a bedroom or living room, but the air-cleaning claim is not enough to judge performance. Look for the clean-air delivery rate (CADR), the tested particle size, noise at useful speeds, room-size guidance and filter replacement price. A percentage-removal figure may apply only under particular test conditions or operating modes.
The lighting is decorative and should not be counted as an air-quality benefit. Compare the table with a conventional purifier from a brand such as Coway, Blueair, Levoit or Philips if maximum clean-air output per dollar matters more than appearance. Check regional details at SwitchBot’s US site.
Best for: buyers who genuinely need a side table and an air purifier, and who have confirmed filter availability and CADR.
Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo
The FlexBreeze HydroGo is a portable fan that can run from a battery or wall power and adds water misting. Stuff reports up to 12 hours of battery life, an IPX5 rating and UV resistance.

- WHAT'S IN THE BOX - Includes one Hue Bridge and four Hue White and Color Ambiance smart 75W A19 light bulbs suitable for most fixtures; Perfect for decorative and general lighting anywhere in your home
- UNLOCK THE FULL POWER OF HUE WITH THE INCLUDED BRIDGE - Enjoy automations control from anywhere in the world, and a secure, stable connection that won't drain your Wi-Fi. Use Matter to connect smart home devices to your Hue smart lighting system.
- ENJOY PRESET SCENES - Light your routines throughout the day; Set a 24-hour natural light scene that mimics the sun or choose light to help you focus unwind, and more
- VOICE CONTROL - Convenient smart control; Set up voice control in the Hue app and use simple voice commands to control your lights with Alexa or Google Assistant
- PERSONALIZE YOUR LIGHT - Create the ultimate mood lighting with dynamic light effects that show subtle changes in brightness and color; Customize in the app
Battery runtime depends on fan speed and whether misting is enabled. Misting can feel helpful in dry heat, but it is not suitable for every indoor environment. Water tanks and nozzles need cleaning to avoid hygiene problems, and added moisture may be undesirable in already humid rooms.
An ingress rating does not mean the fan can be left permanently outdoors in all weather. Follow the manufacturer’s storage and charging guidance, and keep electricity, water and extension leads separated. Verify the exact model at Shark’s official site.

Best for: flexible cooling on patios, decks or temporary outdoor setups—not as a substitute for fixed air conditioning.
ScentAir Whisper
ScentAir Whisper is a connected fragrance diffuser with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, scheduled scent delivery, ambient lighting and stated Alexa and Google Assistant compatibility. Voice control can be useful when scenting a schedule or room is part of a broader home routine.
The important ownership question is the cartridge system. Confirm cartridge prices, coverage area, replenishment arrangements and whether any subscription is optional or required. Consumables can cost more than expected over two or three years.
Fragrance is also not neutral for everyone. People with asthma, allergies or scent sensitivity may prefer no diffuser, and households with pets or young children should check the specific fragrance guidance rather than assuming every cartridge is suitable. Voice-assistant compatibility may vary by country and exact model. Start with ScentAir’s official site.
Best for: users who specifically want scheduled fragrance and accept recurring cartridge costs.

Nanoleaf Blocks
Nanoleaf Blocks are modular RGB lighting panels with edge-to-edge illumination, music visualisation, screen mirroring and optional shelves or pegboards. They are primarily decorative smart lighting rather than general room illumination.
The system makes sense when the visual installation is the point. Music effects and screen mirroring can add atmosphere, while shelves and pegboards give the installation a practical role. The trade-offs are expansion cost, cable planning, app or controller requirements and the limits of wall mounting.
Check power requirements, mounting surfaces, maximum load for accessories and compatibility with the platforms already used at home. Do not assume that every feature works through Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings or Matter simply because the lights have an app. Nanoleaf’s regional product information is at Nanoleaf Blocks.
Best for: buyers seeking configurable ambience. It is a poor choice if the priority is inexpensive, bright and functional room lighting.

Compatibility, privacy and running costs
Do these products work with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or Matter?
Do not treat “smart” as shorthand for universal compatibility. The Stuff feature describes most products through proprietary apps and device-specific functions. It specifically mentions Alexa and Google Assistant for ScentAir Whisper, but that does not establish Apple Home, Matter or SmartThings support.
Before buying, check the exact regional model and look for:
- Apple Home or HomeKit support.
- Google Home and Amazon Alexa support.
- Samsung SmartThings integration.
- Matter support, including which functions Matter exposes.
- Whether an account and internet connection are mandatory.
- Whether schedules and basic controls continue during a Wi-Fi or cloud outage.
Many devices remain partly usable offline, but cloud-dependent maps, AI recognition, voice commands, remote alerts and app schedules may stop working. A product that needs a cloud account for setup should be assessed differently from one with local control.
What will they cost after purchase?
The source feature does not provide a dependable, consistently checked price table. Prices also vary by country, retailer, sale period, model number and installation requirements. Do not use a remembered price or an affiliate redirect as a current price; check the official regional page on the day of purchase and record the currency and date.
Include these recurring costs in the calculation:
- Samsung dust bags, filters and batteries.
- Roborock bags, brushes, filters, mop parts and cleaning solution.
- Navimow blades, positioning equipment, connectivity and servicing.
- Bird food, feeder cleaning and possible AI or cloud fees.
- Gas for the Ooni and pellets for the Weber.
- SwitchBot replacement filters.
- Shark battery and water-system maintenance.
- Nanoleaf expansion panels and mounting accessories.
- ScentAir cartridges or replenishment plans.
What privacy questions should you ask?
Robot vacuums can create detailed maps of rooms. Camera-equipped feeders can upload images. Voice integrations may route commands through third-party services. AI recognition can involve cloud processing even when the product appears to operate locally.
Read the privacy policy and support documentation for data retention, deletion, account closure, third-party sharing and service-discontinuation procedures. Consider whether you are comfortable uploading a home layout or garden footage. The convenience of automation does not remove the need to understand where household data goes.
A practical buying checklist
- Start with the recurring problem. Choose cleaning, mowing, cooling or temperature monitoring before choosing a brand.
- Check the exact regional model. Plugs, voltage, gas fittings, warranties, app regions and included accessories can differ.
- Separate smart features from core hardware. Ask whether the device remains useful without Wi-Fi, an app or a subscription.
- Calculate two or three years of consumables. Include filters, bags, cartridges, fuel, batteries and replacement parts.
- Measure the installation area. Check robot-dock clearance, mower boundaries, wall strength, outdoor clearances and ventilation.
- Review privacy controls. Look for maps, cameras, voice data, cloud processing and deletion options.
- Plan for failure. Confirm what happens during a Wi-Fi, GPS, battery or cloud outage.
- Check safety limits. Outdoor ratings do not permit indefinite exposure; autonomous machinery still needs supervision; gas appliances belong outdoors.
- Check support and repairability. Spare parts, batteries, filters and warranty service matter more as products become complex.
Which picks are most convincing?
For practical smart-home value, the strongest concepts are the Samsung Bespoke Jet Ultra, Roborock Saros 10, Segway Navimow X330E and Weber Searwood XL because their automation addresses recurring work. Their high price and ongoing maintenance still need to be justified by frequency of use and suitability for the home.

They may be attractive when design, ambience or furniture integration is the priority, but their smart functions should not be confused with essential home infrastructure.
The Ooni Koda 2 Max is best understood as connected-home-adjacent outdoor equipment rather than a smart appliance. The PeckPerk feeder is a compelling connected gadget for wildlife enthusiasts, while the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo is useful chiefly for portable cooling rather than whole-home automation.
Ultimately, Stuff’s feature is a useful shortlist, not a final buying guide. Before spending, verify the country-specific model, price, availability, platform support, privacy terms, consumables and safety instructions. The best product is the one whose automation remains useful after the novelty of the app has worn off.
