WYBOT’s solar pool robots are not one all-purpose cleaner. The F1 is a solar-powered surface skimmer for leaves, insects, and floating debris. The S2 Solar is a separate, premium underwater robot that cleans the floor, walls, and waterline using a solar-assisted charging dock. Neither product eliminates ordinary pool maintenance.
The headline claim that WYBOT robots are “taking over” backyards is promotional language, not a verified market-share finding. The more useful question is whether the robot matches your pool, debris, sun exposure, and expectations.

What the F1 actually does
The F1 is an automated skimmer, not an underwater vacuum. WYBOT lists a 33-watt solar system, a 5,200-mAh lithium battery, a seven-liter debris basket, Bluetooth app control, obstacle avoidance, anti-stuck features, and smart cleaning cycles advertised as operating 24/7.
That makes it most useful for pools that constantly collect leaves, bugs, pollen, or other surface debris. A large basket should reduce emptying frequency, but it does not make the robot indefinite: heavy leaf fall can fill the basket and reduce effective cleaning.
The F1 does not scrub the pool floor, walls, waterline, steps, or slopes. It will not replace a vacuum or underwater robotic cleaner, and it does not address algae, water chemistry, pump maintenance, or filter cleaning.

What the S2 Solar adds
The S2 Solar is the product designed for submerged cleaning. WYBOT lists coverage of up to 3,229 square feet, up to 150 minutes per working cycle, an average suction rate of 3,962 gallons per hour, seven cleaning modes, a 180-micron filter basket, and a 40-ppi fine sponge.
It is listed for outdoor in-ground pools with a maximum water depth of 9.8 feet. The company says the robot returns to its dock when the battery falls below 20 percent. The dock combines solar and DC charging, while the included adapter is listed as taking approximately three hours for DC charging.
“Solar-powered” does not mean guaranteed nonstop cleaning or zero electricity use. Shade, cloud cover, seasonal sun angles, pool orientation, dirt on the charging surface, and dock placement all affect solar availability. The DC charger remains important when sunlight is inadequate.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe S2 Solar system is also substantial. WYBOT lists the robot package at 46.3 pounds, so owners should consider how they will remove it, store it, clean its filters, and handle it safely. The robot and dock need unobstructed access, and automatic docking depends on navigation, battery state, water clarity, and pool geometry.
Is the S2 Solar Vision worth more?
The S2 Solar Vision adds camera-based AI-vision detection. WYBOT claims that its AI Vision mode can clean up to 20 times faster, but that figure is a manufacturer claim rather than an independently verified test result. WYBOT also describes the AI Vision mode as floor-only.

- Dual Power & Auto Docking: For uninterrupted daily pool upkeep, this cordless solar robotic pool cleaner runs on dual power sources. DC fast charging serves as a reliable backup for cloudy days, while built-in solar panels sustain runtime for regular maintenance. It automatically navigates back to its docking station when battery runs low, enabling completely hands-free pool care with zero manual effort.
That means the premium should not be justified as though it delivers 20-times-faster cleaning across the entire pool. Camera-based navigation may behave differently in cloudy or dark water, glare, reflective finishes, unusual debris, or other conditions that make visual detection harder.
The observed U.S. product-page price was $1,599, compared with $1,999.99. The Vision model makes the most sense for buyers who specifically value AI-assisted floor cleaning, understand its limitations, and accept the higher price.

What the “summer deal” actually means
WYBOT’s dedicated Summer Sale page listed a promotion running from July 10 through July 31, 2026. That named promotion had ended by August 18, 2026. Product pages nevertheless continued to show sale prices and “Summer Sale Exclusive Perks.” Those should be treated as prices observed on individual product pages—not proof that the original summer event remained active.
Observed U.S. prices included:
- F1: $299.99 versus $399.99, a listed 25% reduction.
- S2 Solar: $1,399.99 versus $1,799.99, a listed 22% reduction.
- S2 Solar Vision: $1,599 versus $1,999.99, a listed 20% reduction.
- C1: approximately $399.99–$429.99, depending on the page viewed.
- C2: approximately $499.99–$519.99, depending on the page viewed.
- S2 Solar plus F1 bundle: approximately $1,609.99 versus $2,199.98.

What solar charging does—and does not—remove
The main convenience is reduced manual charging, not maintenance-free ownership. Solar performance can fall when the dock or robot is shaded, dirty, covered by debris, or exposed to weak seasonal sunlight. A robot may also fail to dock because of an obstruction, navigation problem, unusual pool geometry, or low visibility.
Before purchasing, confirm:
- Where the dock will sit and how much direct sunlight it receives.
- Whether the dock can remain accessible without interfering with swimmers.
- How the unit is stored during storms, freezing weather, pool use, or chemical treatment.
- How often baskets, filters, brushes, and charging surfaces must be cleaned.
- Whether replacement batteries and parts are available and affordable.
The official product pages establish dual charging and warranty periods, but they do not fully establish long-term battery replacement costs or out-of-warranty repair economics. Those are important questions for a $1,400-plus purchase.
Failure points to plan for
The robot will not dock
Check that the dock is correctly installed, unobstructed, and positioned according to the manual. Confirm battery status and water clarity, then retrieve and DC-charge the robot if necessary. Automatic docking is a convenience feature, not a guarantee that manual intervention will never be needed.

The app will not connect
WYBOT lists Bluetooth and app control, with product pages specifying iOS 15.0 or later and Android 8.0 or later. Verify current app availability, Bluetooth permissions, firmware requirements, and model support. App control does not remove the need to empty filters or inspect the robot.
Recommended Free Tools
The robot gets stuck
Steps, drains, ladders, steep transitions, tight corners, raised features, and unusual coping can cause missed areas or snagging. Turn the robot off, remove it safely, inspect for trapped debris, and consult the manual before changing settings or restarting a cleaning cycle.
The filter clogs or the pool is heavily soiled
A robot may need multiple cycles and frequent filter cleaning after storms, algae growth, or a major debris event. Do not treat a listed cycle time or suction figure as a guarantee of complete cleaning in heavily contaminated water.
The battery or dock fails
Document the issue, keep the purchase record, and follow WYBOT’s support procedure. Independent online complaints about docking and support are anecdotal and cannot establish a failure rate, but they are a reason to examine return shipping, replacement procedures, and local support before ordering.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Warranty and returns
WYBOT’s warranty table lists 12 months for the F1 and 24 months for the S2 Solar and S2 Solar Vision. The policy describes repair or replacement for covered defects in materials or workmanship and shows a 30-day return or replacement window. Eligibility, shipping responsibility, exclusions, and regional terms can change, so read the current policy before purchase.
A warranty is not the same as an instant replacement or a guaranteed trouble-free repair. Keep packaging, receipts, serial numbers, and photographs of any problem. The current policy is available at WYBOT’s refund and warranty page.
Which WYBOT should you buy?
- Choose the F1 if your main problem is floating leaves, insects, pollen, or everyday surface debris. It is the lower-cost, focused solution.
- Choose the S2 Solar if you have a suitable in-ground pool, want floor, wall, and waterline cleaning, receive useful sunlight, and accept a premium price and heavy equipment.
- Choose the S2 Solar Vision only if AI-assisted floor cleaning is specifically valuable to you and you are comfortable treating the 20-times-faster figure as a vendor claim, not a guarantee.
- Consider a C1 or C2 plus F1 bundle if you want both surface and underwater cleaning at a lower observed price than the S2 Solar system, and do not mind conventional manual charging.
- Compare ordinary cordless cleaners if your pool is above-ground, shaded, smaller, or otherwise outside the S2 Solar’s listed fit.
- Consider a corded robotic cleaner if consistent power and long cleaning sessions matter more than eliminating a cable.
- Use professional service when the real problem is algae, water chemistry, equipment failure, unusual pool geometry, or maintenance you cannot safely perform.
What these robots do not replace
Even the F1 and S2 Solar together do not make a pool maintenance-free. Owners still need to test and balance water chemistry, maintain pumps and filters, brush missed areas, empty debris containers, inspect equipment, and handle seasonal opening and closing procedures. A robot removes some cleaning labor; it does not diagnose water-quality or equipment problems.
Verdict
The F1 is a useful targeted skimmer if floating debris is the nuisance. The S2 Solar is a premium convenience product for compatible in-ground pools, especially where reduced manual charging has real value. The S2 Solar Vision is a specialized upgrade, not proof that every pool-cleaning task is dramatically faster.
The observed prices may be attractive, but the named July 10–31 summer sale was time-limited and the product pages can change. Buy only after checking the current checkout price, pool compatibility, sunlight, docking location, return terms, and replacement-part support. “Taking over backyards” remains advertising language—not an established market fact.
