LG’s 2026 OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV is a 9mm-class, flush-mount OLED designed to make a large screen look more like part of the wall. Its Zero Connect Box moves HDMI sources away from the display and sends video and audio wirelessly, but the screen still needs power. LG calls it the world’s thinnest True Wireless OLED TV—a narrower claim than being the thinnest television or thinnest OLED ever made.

What makes the W6 a “Wallpaper” TV?
The W6 revives LG’s Wallpaper TV concept, first introduced in 2017. Its purpose is architectural as much as technological: the display is intended to sit flush against the wall, with a shallow side profile and minimal visible cabling.
LG says the power board and speakers are integrated into the screen while its redesigned mounting system is intended to eliminate the usual visible gap between a television and the wall. The result should be particularly appealing in open-plan living spaces, high-end interiors and rooms where a conventional media console would be visually intrusive.

However, 9mm describes the television’s slim body—not the complete installation. Wall-mount hardware, the wall surface, the power connection and any sound system all add to the practical footprint. “Pencil-thin” is therefore a useful visual description, not an exact statement that the installed television occupies only 9mm.
What “True Wireless” actually means
The W6 removes source cables from the display area, but it does not eliminate the need for power or guarantee a wire-free room.
- Connect equipment to the Zero Connect Box. Streaming devices, game consoles, PCs, receivers and other HDMI sources connect to the separate box rather than directly to the screen.
- Place the box away from the display. LG says it can be positioned up to 10 metres, or roughly 32 feet, from the television.
- The box sends video and audio wirelessly. LG describes the transmission as “visually lossless,” based on internal testing, while noting that results can vary with connection status and installation conditions.
- Provide power at the screen. The display still needs a power cable. A genuinely clean installation may require concealed wiring and suitable electrical work.
The stated range is not a universal promise for every home. Walls, furniture, obstructions, wireless interference and the relative position of the box and screen can affect performance. The box also needs its own power and still requires conventional HDMI cables for the equipment connected to it.
Picture and gaming features
The W6 is not only a lifestyle product. It has a 4K OLED panel with 8.3 million self-lit pixels, LG’s Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3 and Hyper Radiant Color Technology. LG claims peak luminance of up to 3.9 times that of conventional OLED at a 3% test window. That is a manufacturer measurement, not a universal real-world brightness result; the outcome can vary by model, size, market and test conditions.
For gaming, the television supports up to 4K at 165Hz, variable refresh rate, NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium. Actual performance still depends on the source device, supported input and the rest of the signal chain.
LG also promotes its latest webOS platform, Voice ID, Multi-AI features, AI Concierge and Gallery+. Gallery+ can display artwork, personal photos and ambient visuals when the television is not being used for video.

Reflection claims need context
LG says the W6 has an industry-first Reflection Free Premium certification and that its black-level and colour claims were verified by UL Solutions. These are useful features for rooms with windows or overhead lighting, but “reflection-free” should not be read as a guarantee that no light source will ever be visible.
Real-world results depend on the room, lighting, viewing position and screen size. Treat the certification as evidence of a designed and tested reflection-reduction performance, not as a promise of a completely reflectionless image in every installation.
Is it really the world’s thinnest OLED TV?
The wording matters. LG’s claim is “world’s thinnest True Wireless OLED TV.” It should not be shortened to “world’s thinnest OLED TV” without the qualifier.
Earlier LG Wallpaper models were thinner on paper. What Hi-Fi reports that the 2017-era W7 was approximately 2.57mm deep. The W6’s distinction is the combination of a 9mm-class body with wireless source connectivity and integrated components—not an unrestricted record for every OLED television in history.
Price: how much is the design premium?
The 77-inch W6 starts at $5,499.99 in the United States. That puts much of its price premium on the installation concept: the Wallpaper form factor, flush mounting and Zero Connect system.

| Model | 77-inch U.S. price signal | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| OLED evo W6 | $5,499.99 | Design-first installations with hidden source equipment |
| OLED evo G6 | $4,499 | Premium picture and wall-oriented styling without the W6 system |
| OLED evo C6 | $3,699 | Lower-cost OLED viewing and gaming in a conventional installation |
The comparison is not a claim that the C6 or G6 delivers identical performance or appearance. It shows what the W6 buyer is paying for: a more specialized wall installation and cleaner source-cable layout. Buyers focused mainly on screen size or picture quality per dollar may find the C6 or G6 more rational choices. The official lineup pricing is available in LG’s 2026 OLED announcement.

A 77- or 83-inch, 9mm-class OLED should be treated as a planned installation rather than an ordinary television delivery. Before ordering, confirm:
- Wall structure: The wall must accept the specified mounting system and the weight of the display. Stud locations, masonry, surface flatness and wall finish matter.
- Power access: The screen still needs power. Concealing a cable inside a wall may require approved components and compliance with local electrical rules.
- Final viewing height: Decide the mounting position before installation, particularly if the television will replace artwork or sit above furniture.
- Zero Connect Box location: Allow space, ventilation and power for the box, while keeping the wireless path practical.
- Home-theater equipment: Verify the model-specific manual for receiver, soundbar, PC, console, HDMI cable and audio-routing compatibility.
- Handling: Large, very thin panels require careful delivery and mounting. Professional installation is sensible, especially where wall modification or concealed power is involved.
“Flush against any wall” should not be taken literally. Wall construction, studs, uneven surfaces, power access, mounting height and local building requirements can all change what is possible.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWho should buy the W6?
The W6 makes the strongest case for:
- Homeowners planning a high-end, wall-mounted living-room installation.
- Design-conscious buyers who want the television to resemble artwork when idle.
- People who want consoles and streaming hardware hidden in a cabinet or nearby equipment area.
- Gamers who want a flagship OLED with 4K/165Hz and variable-refresh support and can justify the premium.
It is a weaker choice for renters, budget-conscious buyers, anyone unable to modify walls or provide concealed power, and buyers who want maximum screen size for the lowest cost. It may also be inconvenient for people with complex wired AV systems who prefer direct connections and predictable cable paths.
Normal OLED considerations still apply
The W6’s thin construction does not remove ordinary OLED ownership considerations. Long-term display of static logos, news tickers, computer desktops or repeated game HUDs can contribute to image retention or burn-in under certain usage patterns. There is no evidence in the supplied specifications to claim that the W6 is more or less susceptible than other OLED televisions, so buyers should follow LG’s care guidance and vary static content where practical.
Verdict
The LG OLED evo W6 is a meaningful installation product, not merely a thinner conventional OLED. Its 9mm-class profile, flush-wall mounting and Zero Connect Box can produce an unusually clean modern-home installation. But the screen is not literally cable-free, the wireless range is conditional, and the “world’s thinnest” claim applies specifically to True Wireless OLED TVs.
At $5,499.99 for 77 inches in the U.S., the W6 is worth considering when the wall treatment and hidden equipment are central to the project. If those details do not matter, LG’s C6 or G6 may offer a better use of the budget.
