Duck describes Select Grip EasyLiner as grippy on both sides. Gorilla Grip markets PowerGRIP as helping reduce slipping and bunching. Those advertised features may suit drawers or shelves where contents move, but the product descriptions do not establish how firmly each liner stays in place under real household use.

Both approaches involve a trade-off: a surface designed to help objects slide is different from one designed to add friction. If stored items need to remain stable, prioritize a grippy top; if you regularly take items in and out, a smooth top may be more convenient.
Pick a liner for spills and under-sink storage
For wipe-clean spills, consider a resistant surface
Gorilla Grip describes DripGuard as water- and oil-resistant vinyl that can be wiped clean. “Resistant” is not the same as proof that a liner will contain every leak or keep moisture from reaching the cabinet. Check for spills and dry the shelf beneath the liner as needed.

Gorilla Grip describes LeakGuard as having an absorbent felt top and waterproof lower layer. It is presented as a trimmable, machine-washable option for areas such as beneath a sink. Use a purpose-made liner on wire shelves
Gaps in wire shelving can let small items fall through or sit unevenly. Gorilla Grip describes ShelfGuard as a polypropylene liner with corner cutouts for standard wire shelves, addressing that surface shape. Check the product dimensions and shelf layout before buying: the description does not establish that its cutouts fit every wire-shelf design.
Measure, trim, and fit the liner
- Measure the usable surface. Record the shelf or drawer’s width and depth, accounting for rails, brackets, drawer slides, and other hardware.
- Compare the product dimensions. Check the specific size or roll width and length rather than assuming every variant is the same.
- Plan around corners and hardware. For wire shelves, check the shape and position of the supports against any liner cutouts.
- Trim only if the product allows it. PowerGRIP, LeakGuard, and ShelfGuard are described as trimmable; confirm the instructions for the size you select.
- Test the fit before loading. Make sure the liner lies flat and does not block drawer movement or cabinet hardware.
Accurate measuring helps avoid excess material and makes it easier to keep the liner clear of moving parts. Non-adhesive liners are removable and avoid sticky backing, but manufacturer descriptions alone do not show how securely each stays put on every shelf surface.
Clean the liner and the surface underneath
Follow the care directions for the exact product. Duck describes Smooth Top EasyLiner as machine washable in cold water and laid flat to dry; Gorilla Grip describes LeakGuard as machine washable. Gorilla Grip describes DripGuard and PowerGRIP as wipe-clean. Do not assume that care instructions for one liner apply to another.

After a spill or leak, lift the liner when needed to clean and dry the cabinet surface beneath it. The available product descriptions do not establish a universal outcome for moisture trapped under a liner, so do not treat any liner as a substitute for checking the shelf and fixing the source of a leak.

For refrigerator shelves, a disposable towel is not a replacement for cleaning after raw-meat leakage. Consumer Reports food-safety director Jim Rogers cautions: “If you use paper towels as a shelf liner and there is leakage, especially from meat, that paper towel could become contaminated with bacteria, and I am not sure how that would help with cleanup because the surface under the contaminated towel would still need to be cleaned,” Consumer Reports, “3 Best Paper Towels, Tested and Reviewed,” updated June 23, 2026.
