OxeFit’s XS1 was introduced in December 2021 as a roughly $6,000 connected home-gym system. The headline price rounded TechCrunch’s reported $5,999 starting price, before the company’s software membership. Unlike a conventional cable machine, the XS1 combines digitally controlled resistance, a bench and training deck, force-plate measurements, a 32-inch touchscreen, adaptive programming, and multiple strength, cardio, and Pilates modes.

That makes the XS1 less a simple piece of home exercise equipment than a premium training platform. Its appeal is consolidation: one large machine is intended to cover several types of workouts while collecting performance data. The trade-off is equally substantial—thousands of dollars up front, a continuing membership fee, a 300-pound installation, considerable floor and overhead requirements, and potentially expensive returns.

What OxeFit launched in 2021
OxeFit first presented the XP1 for commercial, rehabilitation, sports-performance, and professional-training environments. The XS1 was the company’s more home-oriented model: a scaled-down system with a 32-inch touchscreen and resistance adjustable to 250 pounds.

The December 14, 2021 launch coverage described support for strength workouts, rowing, Pilates, and additional accessory-enabled activities. TechCrunch reported a $5,999 starting price and a $40-per-month software subscription. Early press material had shown a $4,700 figure, but that was identified as an error rather than the actual launch price.
Those are historical launch figures, not a timeless price claim. OxeFit’s later membership and store information uses different figures.
What the XS1 is designed to do
OxeFit currently positions the OxeFit XS1 smart home gym as an all-in-one strength and cardio platform. Its hardware and software are designed to support:
- Resistance training: digitally controlled deck resistance up to 250 pounds, or 125 pounds per side.
- Sliding and dynamic exercises: slide resistance up to 140 pounds, or 70 pounds per side.
- Rowing and simulated cardio: rowing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, surf swim, and ski cross.
- Pilates: digitally controlled Pilates sessions and exercises.
- Coached training: trainer-led classes, guided programs, custom workouts, challenges, and goals.
- Performance feedback: tracking for power, velocity, load, and balance.
- Adaptive software: OxeAI recommendations and workouts that adjust around recorded performance data.
- Form and movement tracking: OxeFit’s membership materials describe computer-vision form tracking and multi-user workouts.
The breadth is the product’s central differentiator. A buyer could use the XS1 for resistance work, conditioning, Pilates, and guided classes without separately purchasing a rack, cable station, rowing machine, and several other accessories. That does not establish that it performs each activity better than dedicated equipment, however. The supplied research includes no independent hands-on testing of exercise feel, noise, durability, reliability, coaching quality, or measurement accuracy.
Current price and membership cost
There are two costs to separate: the machine and the connected service.
| Item | Reported price or status | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| XS1 at launch | $5,999 starting price | Reported by TechCrunch on December 14, 2021; the earlier $4,700 figure was described as an error. |
| Software at launch | $40 per month | Historical launch pricing, not the current membership figure. |
| Current individual membership | $49.99 per month | OxeFit membership documentation cited in the dossier was updated February 20, 2025. The plan includes the purchaser and up to five additional family members. |
| Official XS1 store page | $5,648 displayed | The cited store check, dated August 13, 2026, showed the product as sold out. Verify the live page before treating this as an available selling price. |
The membership is not merely an optional video library according to OxeFit’s documentation. It is described as including app progress tracking, custom workouts, scheduling, goals, challenges, daily content releases, thousands of trainer-led classes, more than 200 strength exercises, Pilates, six cardio activities, advanced training modes, multi-user workouts, computer-vision form tracking, and AI-driven recommendations.

Before buying, confirm what functions remain usable without membership, whether a subscription is required for the features you care about, and whether the current price applies to the exact configuration being sold. The launch price, current store display, and membership price come from different dates and should not be combined into one supposed current package cost.
Dimensions, weight, and room planning
The XS1 requires more planning than a compact connected-fitness product. OxeFit’s current manual lists a device weight of 300 pounds and the following dimensions:
| Configuration | Dimensions |
|---|---|
| Unfolded | 80 inches long × 45.5 inches wide × 81.5 inches high |
| Folded | 21.5 inches long × 45.5 inches wide × 81.5 inches high |
The unfolded dimensions cover approximately 25 square feet before adding clearance for movement, access, and safe operation. That area is a calculation from the manual’s dimensions, not an OxeFit-stated minimum room size. The machine remains 81.5 inches high when folded, so folding reduces its length but does not eliminate overhead-clearance concerns.
Construction and installation checklist
A prospective buyer should verify the following before placing an order:
- Delivery path: Measure doors, hallways, turns, stairs, and any tight transitions. The machine is heavy, and the relevant path is not limited to the final workout room.
- Floor capacity: Confirm that the finished floor and supporting structure are appropriate for a 300-pound machine plus the user and dynamic exercise loads. If the room is above grade or has an uncertain subfloor, get advice from a qualified building professional.
- Operating clearance: Reserve more than the bare 80-by-45.5-inch footprint for the user, accessories, movement, and access around the equipment.
- Ceiling height: The 81.5-inch height should be checked against the lowest obstruction, including beams, ductwork, lights, and sloped-ceiling areas.
- Surface protection: Heavy-duty home-gym flooring or a rubber equipment mat may be a sensible installation consideration for protecting the finished floor. OxeFit’s cited materials do not establish that a particular mat is required or included.
- Professional installation: The manual indicates that OxeFit technicians install the XS1. Confirm the installation area and delivery requirements with OxeFit rather than assuming ordinary parcel delivery or self-assembly.
Because no independent structural or installation assessment was included in the research, the dimensions should be treated as planning data, not as approval for a particular room or floor assembly.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteSafety and operating limits
The manual states that only one person may operate the XS1 at a time and instructs users to remain on the deck during exercises. It also says to use only accessories supplied or approved by OxeFit and to keep children and pets away from the machine.

These are manufacturer instructions, not independent safety testing. OxeFit’s references to AI recommendations, force-plate data, or form tracking should not be turned into a claim that the machine prevents injuries, diagnoses movement problems, or is clinically validated for rehabilitation. Anyone with an injury, medical condition, or rehabilitation need should obtain appropriate professional guidance before using a high-resistance training system.
Returns, availability, and geographic limits
OxeFit’s terms indicate that its products are intended for sale within the 48 contiguous United States and selected countries. That is not the same as universal international availability. Buyers outside those areas should confirm whether the XS1 can be delivered, installed, serviced, and returned in their location.
The cited policy materials describe possible return-shipping costs, a 15 percent restocking fee, and deductions for missing items or damage. On a product costing several thousand dollars, those conditions materially change the risk of ordering. Read the live terms for the exact configuration before purchase, and clarify:
- the return window and eligibility requirements;
- who pays for return transportation or disassembly;
- whether the restocking fee applies to the specific order;
- how damage, missing accessories, or packaging problems are assessed;
- what installation and service coverage applies in the buyer’s location.
OxeFit’s terms also say purchasers are not authorized to resell the products. That makes the company’s own availability, support, and return policies particularly important for buyers considering a used or transferred unit.
Is the XS1 good value?
The credible value proposition is not that the XS1 is an inexpensive replacement for a gym. It is that a buyer may prefer one data-rich platform over several separate pieces of equipment and a collection of unrelated fitness subscriptions.
The XS1 may make sense for someone who:
- has the budget for a premium home-training system;
- wants both strength and guided conditioning in one platform;
- values performance metrics, adaptive programming, and a structured content library;
- expects several household members to use the membership;
- has sufficient floor area, ceiling height, delivery access, and floor capacity;
- is comfortable with a recurring software charge and company-dependent support.
It is a weaker fit for someone who wants the lowest-cost way to build a home gym, already owns dedicated cardio and strength equipment, has limited clearance, rents a space where a 300-pound installation is impractical, or wants equipment that remains fully useful without a subscription.

Compared with ordinary gym equipment, the XS1 offers a more integrated digital experience and a wider range of guided modes. Compared with buying separate equipment, it may reduce the number of machines in a room. But the consolidation comes with a high entry price, a large and heavy form factor, proprietary software dependence, and potentially costly returns. Without independent testing, there is no basis to claim superior resistance feel, quieter operation, greater durability, or better coaching than competing systems.

OxeFit was founded by Rab Shanableh and Peter Neuhaus and initially emphasized commercial, institutional, sports, and health-related applications. In a September 25, 2024 announcement, the company said it had raised $17.5 million in a new funding round, bringing total funding above $70 million. OxeFit said the funding would support artificial-intelligence and software development.
Contemporary 2024 reporting continued to describe the XS1 as the home-use system and the XP1 as the more commercially oriented product. That reporting also characterized OxeFit’s strategy as combining dynamic resistance and form-tracking data with personalized software, rather than competing only as a manufacturer of commodity gym equipment.
The careful current description is therefore that OxeFit is a specialized connected-fitness hardware and software company whose flagship consumer product is the XS1. Sales volume, revenue, valuation, retail distribution, and ongoing operational status should not be inferred from the funding announcement or stated without a fresh source check.
Bottom line for a prospective buyer
The OxeFit XS1 was a notable 2021 attempt to combine a strength machine, cardio platform, Pilates system, measurement hardware, and coached software in one home product. Its $5,999 launch price—rounded to “$6,000” in the headline—was only the beginning of the ownership calculation. The current membership documentation cited here lists $49.99 per month, while the cited official store check displayed $5,648 and marked the unit sold out.

Approach it as a luxury all-in-one training platform, not as a bargain cable machine or a guaranteed commercial-gym replacement. Confirm live availability, the exact configuration and subscription requirements, installation logistics, floor and clearance conditions, and the return policy before committing. The machine’s strongest case is for buyers who value breadth and integrated data enough to accept the price, space, weight, and ongoing-service trade-offs.
