Capacity: generous, but not a serving-size promise
Ninja says each drawer can hold up to 1.4kg of fries or one 2kg chicken, and markets the appliance as suitable for 8+ people. Treat those as manufacturer guidance, not a promise that every meal for eight will fit comfortably: food dimensions and how it is arranged affect usable space. Ninja’s “up to 25% more” capacity claim compares the 9.5L AF451UK with the 7.6L AF300UK, not with every air fryer. The AF451UK is therefore best judged by the size and shape of the foods you regularly cook, as well as its total litres.

The supplied digital probe monitors food temperature to guide cooking. That can be useful when doneness depends on the centre temperature, particularly for larger cuts of meat or fish. It is not a guarantee of perfect results: placement, food thickness and the desired doneness still matter. If you mostly cook chips, vegetables or foods where a probe adds little, you may not get enough value from that feature to choose this model over a less expensive dual-zone option.

Is the Ninja AF451UK worth it?
It is worth considering if you will regularly use both drawers and the probe. Separate zones help with meals that have different cooking requirements; the probe adds a more direct way to judge temperature-sensitive food. If you mainly cook one item at a time, rarely prepare probe-suitable foods or have limited counter space, the extra capacity and probe may be unnecessary.

Check the appliance against your counter, cupboards and usual storage arrangements before buying. Ninja states that the AF451UK can cook “up to 75% faster than fan ovens,” based on tests using fish fingers and sausages, including preheat. It also claims “up to 75% less fat than traditional frying methods” for Air Fry, based on comparisons with deep-fried, hand-cut French fries. These are the manufacturer’s specified comparisons, not results that should be expected for every food, recipe or oven.
Ninja lists the drawers and crisper plates as dishwasher-safe. - Consider the AF451UK if two independently controlled zones and a cooking probe solve regular meal-preparation needs, and you have room for a large appliance.
- Compare a non-probe dual-zone model if you want the two-drawer format but seldom cook foods for which internal temperature guidance is useful.
- Look at a smaller option if counter or cupboard space is tight, or your usual meals do not need the AF451UK’s capacity.
