What does “double-layer titanium vacuum” mean?
The phrase describes a double-wall vessel with a vacuum space between its walls. That vacuum reduces heat transfer through conduction and convection. Titanium is the reported construction material; it is not, by itself, the insulating mechanism.
The claim therefore contains three separate ideas:
- Material: Xiaomi described the cup as using titanium construction.
- Structure: The cup uses a double-wall vacuum-insulated design.
- Performance: Xiaomi listed specific hot- and cold-retention figures.
It should not be treated as a new scientific category or proof that the Ti 2 must outperform every stainless-steel vacuum bottle. Comparable insulation performance depends on the vacuum construction, wall design, lid and seals, fill level, starting temperature and test conditions—not simply on whether the metal is titanium.

Launch coverage described the original 480 ml model as having a titanium body, a pure-titanium inner liner, a rotating titanium lid and an included titanium tea filter. It also included a silicone base intended to provide a quieter, more stable contact with a table. An exterior metallic coating or finish was described as helping with wear and scratch resistance.

Reports differ over the exact titanium percentage. One described the construction as containing more than 99% titanium, while another used a 99.99% figure. Those numbers should be treated as attributed product or marketing specifications, not as independently verified material analysis. The available reports also do not establish that every component—including seals, coatings and other small parts—is titanium.
The design changes have practical consequences. A rotating screw lid may have fewer exposed moving parts than a push-button lid, but it is slower to open one-handed. The tea filter is useful for loose-leaf tea, although threads and filter components can require more careful cleaning than a simple wide-mouth bottle.
Insulation claims: 58°C hot and 10°C cold after six hours

These are not the same as a guarantee that every drink will remain at those temperatures for six hours. The accessible launch coverage does not specify the starting temperature, ambient temperature, fill level, whether the lid was opened, or the measurement location. For that reason, the figures should be read as Xiaomi’s test or specification claims, not as an independent performance benchmark.

A reading of 58°C after six hours also does not mean the drink remains near-boiling. It describes a temperature at a particular point in a stated test, and real-world results will vary with the beverage, volume, opening frequency and surrounding conditions.
What titanium changes—and what it does not
Titanium can be appealing to buyers who want a lightweight, corrosion-resistant material and prefer its feel or finish over stainless steel. The included filter also makes this version more relevant to tea drinkers than a basic insulated bottle.
But the complete product weight matters more than the material label. The reported 196 g includes the body, lid, seals, filter and other parts. Titanium construction does not automatically make every bottle lighter, more durable or better insulated than a well-designed stainless-steel alternative.
The main trade-offs are:
- Potential advantages: low weight for the reported 480 ml capacity, titanium construction, an integrated tea filter and a quieter silicone base.
- Potential disadvantages: a slower screw lid, more complicated cleaning around the lid and filter, potentially higher cost, and no independent leak, drop, durability or thermal testing in the available coverage.
Claims about antibacterial behavior, chemical inertness or general food safety should also be kept narrow. Titanium construction alone does not establish sterilization or guarantee that every drink, seal or coating is suitable for every use.

Do not confuse the 2024 model with the 2026 Moonlight Silver variant
A later Moonlight Silver Ti 2 variant reported in 2026 has different configurations and pricing. It should not be silently combined with the original 2024 launch model.

- The total landed cost, including shipping, taxes and marketplace fees.
- Who handles returns and warranty claims.
- Whether replacement seals, lids and filters can be purchased.
- Whether the seller can establish authenticity and provide complete material information.
Chinese store service terms—such as return, exchange or local service provisions—should not automatically be assumed to apply to an international purchase. An unofficial importer may leave the buyer dependent on the seller rather than Xiaomi’s local service network.
Who should consider the Ti 2?
The original Ti 2 makes the most sense for someone who specifically wants titanium, values the reported 480 ml-to-196 g combination, drinks loose-leaf tea or is comfortable sourcing China-market products through a reputable channel.
It is a weaker fit for buyers who need a local warranty, guaranteed U.S. delivery, easy replacement parts, one-handed opening or independently tested thermal performance. Ordinary bottle shoppers should also compare it with a good stainless-steel vacuum bottle: titanium is a premium material choice, not proof that the bottle will keep drinks hotter or colder in every situation.
