To run Spin Only on a Samsung washer, turn the machine on, select a dedicated Spin Only cycle if your panel has one, or press and hold Spin for about three seconds until a cycle time appears. Select an available spin speed, then press Start/Pause (or Start on some models). Samsung uses different controls across washer models, so the model-specific manual remains the final authority.
What Spin Only does
Spin Only removes water from laundry without running another wash. It is useful when clothes have finished washing but still feel too wet, or when you want to extract additional water after another cycle.

It does not rinse the load. If you need fresh water and another rinse, choose Rinse + Spin instead. That cycle rinses the laundry and then spins it, and can be useful when extra rinsing is needed or when adding fabric softener during the rinse.
How to set Spin Only
- Turn on the washer. Press the Power button.
- Check the cycle selector. If Spin Only is printed on the dial or appears as a selectable cycle on the display, choose it.
- Use the Spin-button shortcut when needed. If Spin Only is not listed, press and hold Spin for about three seconds. On supported models, the display shows a cycle time after the hold.
- Set the speed. Choose one of the spin speeds offered by your washer.
- Start the cycle. Press Start/Pause or the panel’s Start button.
Some older Samsung instructions describe holding Spin for two to three seconds before starting. If holding the button does nothing, do not assume the function is missing: controls and available cycles vary by model and market. Look up the manual using the complete model code printed on the washer.

Choose a spin speed that suits the load
Higher speeds extract more water but can increase wrinkling and stress delicate fabrics. Select only a speed your model offers.

Actual speed names and which fabrics Samsung recommends for each setting depend on the washer model and selected cycle. Follow the garment-care label as well as the washer manual.
Spin Only versus Rinse + Spin

When the washer will not spin
A Samsung washer may fail to reach the spin stage when it cannot drain properly. Work through these checks without forcing the door or disassembling parts not covered by your model’s instructions.

Check the selected option and load
- Confirm that you selected Spin Only rather than No Spin.
- Redistribute a badly unbalanced load and remove excess items if the drum is overloaded.
- Make sure the door or lid is fully closed and that the cycle has actually been started.
Check drainage symptoms
Standing water, a drain-related message or a pump that runs without emptying indicates a drainage problem. A washer that cannot drain may not proceed to spinning.
Clean the pump filter when applicable
Only Samsung front-load washers have a user-accessible pump filter. Samsung recommends cleaning it about once a month or every 40 washes, whichever comes first. Use the exact model instructions before opening the filter, because residual water can spill and the access procedure differs.
Know when service is needed
If the washer drains correctly but never spins, or if it stops with repeated motor or mechanical symptoms, consult Samsung’s model-specific troubleshooting guidance or arrange service. Do not infer a motor failure solely from one interrupted cycle.

- A three-second hold does not display a time.
- The selector has several similarly named cycles.
- Your washer uses different Start, confirmation or speed controls.
The manual will also identify the speeds available for that washer, whether Spin Only is a separate cycle, and the correct drainage-filter procedure for front-load models.
