- 【VHB Foam Back Tape】 Based on buyers’ feedback on adhesive issue, we upgraded the tape to VHB heavy duty foam mounting tape. It is much more sticky and durable than blue or white tapes which is widely used by other brands. Never fall off. ( Heating the tape with heat gun or hair dryer will make it more sticky.)
- 【Super Quality LED Strip】 300 pcs high-brightness 5050 blue LEDs are evenly embedded on the 5m(16.4ft) double-layer pure copper FPCB Board and give out beautiful blue light. High-density 60 LEDs/M design makes luminescence more even and natural. Low voltage 12V DC input, safe to use, touchable to children.
- 【Flexible Design & Cut Easily】 Using flexible copper circuit board, you can gently bend it to an arc. Please NEVER rudely bend it to right or acute angle, otherwise the circuit board and silicone coating will crack. The strip lights can be cut between every 3 LEDs along along the cutting marks to fit for your project, great for DIY.
- 【Two different power input ends】One end has 2pin wire, you can screw it to the positive and negative terminals of 12V power supply. The other end has 5.5x2.1mm female DC connector. If your 12V power supply has 5.5x2.1mm male DC connector, just plug and work. The power supply is not included.
- 【Indoor and Outdoor Use】The LED strip is coated with clear silicone, up to IP65 waterproof rate. It can be used to beautify both indoor and outdoor lighting scenes, such as backyard, deck, boat, living room, bedroom, kitchen, ceiling, stairs etc. 24 months warranty. We always stand behind our products.
Reported details included a candle, books, a brown leather baseball, additional candles, a houseplant, and a copy of Crap Taxidermy. A wall sign carried the saying, “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.” Reports connect the line with Babe Ruth, although that attribution is not independently established in the available sources.
The reported apartment tour and move-in details came from Joanna’s Instagram Stories on August 6, 2024, as Drake moved into his college apartment. The available reporting does not establish the apartment’s location, size, or college.
What was the drinking-game item Joanna Gaines misunderstood?
Joanna Gaines initially described an unfamiliar tabletop object as a “ring toss for good ol’ fashion fun.” Drake corrected her with the line, “Mom, this is a drinking game.” The exchange was presented as a light family joke, not as evidence about Drake’s drinking habits.
The moment captures the central contrast in the apartment story: Joanna approached the space as a designer and parent adding familiar, decorative details, while Drake treated the apartment as a place to make his own choices.

Readers trying to recreate that contrast can shop by category for blue LED strip lights, but the reporting does not identify the brand, model, length, or technical specifications of Drake’s lights.
How can you recreate the college-apartment lighting look?
To recreate the blue-lighting effect without claiming to duplicate Drake’s exact setup, compare LED strip lights by length, color range, installation method, controls, power source, cable management, and brightness adjustment.
| Buying consideration | What to check | Why it matters in a college apartment |
|---|---|---|
| Length | Measure the wall, desk, bed, or room perimeter before buying. | A strip that is too short will not create continuous perimeter lighting, while excess length requires a safe way to manage or trim it. |
| Color range | Look for blue plus warm-white or other everyday settings. | Blue can create the “club” effect, while warm white is more comfortable for routine lighting. |
| Installation | Check whether the adhesive is suitable for painted rental walls and whether mounting clips are available. | Removable installation can reduce the risk of wall damage at move-out. |
| Controls | Compare a remote, phone app, or voice-control compatibility. | Convenient controls make it easier to change the mood without reaching behind furniture. |
| Power and cables | Confirm the power adapter, outlet location, and cable length. | Planning prevents cables from crossing walkways or becoming tangled behind a desk. |
| Brightness | Choose a model with dimming if available. | Dimming makes bright colored light more usable in a bedroom or shared apartment. |
Get the look: Blue LED strip lights are the closest documented recreation category because the reporting says Drake bought lights on Amazon and strung them throughout the apartment. No particular Amazon listing should be treated as Drake’s product.

The change was not a complete rejection of Joanna’s design approach. Instead, the story shows how a college apartment becomes personal once the student begins adding items that reflect his own taste. Joanna’s warm styling supplied the starting point; Drake’s blue lights supplied the unmistakably college-age finishing touch.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is known—and not known—about Drake’s college apartment?
What is known is limited to the reported apartment tour and Joanna’s later comments about the lighting. The initial tour occurred during Drake’s August 2024 college move-in, and the later lighting update used blue LEDs that Drake reportedly purchased on Amazon.
The available reporting does not establish Drake’s university, the apartment’s location or size, the exact LED brand or model, or whether the apartment was university-managed housing. For that reason, “college apartment” is more accurate than “dorm,” and product recommendations should be treated as ways to recreate the look rather than identifications of Drake’s belongings.
