Konka Group’s 2020 annual report lists Jiangxi Konka alongside nano-crystallized-glass affiliates. The names Jiangxi Konka, Jiangxi Golden Phoenix Nano Crystallized Glass Co., Ltd., and Golden Phoenix appear in company and marketplace materials, but the available documents do not provide a complete current corporate-structure map showing how each name relates to the others. Buyers should confirm the legal seller, manufacturer, warranty provider, and bank-account beneficiary on any quotation and contract. Konka Group 2020 annual report
The manufacturer describes a factory, research and development, export activity, and production capacity. Its website cites five production lines and annual output of approximately 3 million square meters. Marketplace profiles have reported different line counts and capacities, ranging from 7 million to 25 million square meters annually. These figures are source-specific and inconsistent; they should not be combined into a single current capacity claim. Ask for current factory details and capacity relevant to the quoted product and delivery schedule. Manufacturer website Made-in-China company profile

What is white nano-crystallized glass?
In plain terms, it is a manufactured glass-ceramic slab designed as an architectural finish. It is neither natural marble nor ordinary float glass. The manufacturer describes using mineral materials including silica, soda ash, and limestone, with high-temperature processing to create a glassy-crystalline structure. Its website refers to temperatures reaching approximately 1,800°C; this is the company’s description, not an independently verified process specification for every product series. Manufacturer product and process information
The word “nano” appears in the product category and brand language, but buyers should not assume it means engineered nanoparticles are present or that a specific nanotechnology benefit has been demonstrated. Request a technical description of the product’s composition and microstructure if that distinction matters to a specification.
Unlike quarried marble, the slab is manufactured, so its color and decorative pattern can be controlled in production. Unlike porcelain or engineered quartz, it has a glass-ceramic character, and its fabrication, edge behavior, and thermal response should be assessed using product-specific documentation rather than assumed from the name alone.

What does “white” mean in the product range?
White can describe different constructions and appearances. A slab may be white through its body or have a white surface finish; it may be plain, or carry digitally printed veining intended to evoke Carrara- or Calacatta-style marble. The company also markets translucent products and finishes described as gloss, matte, grooved, soft, or textured. Confirm whether the selected pattern runs through the slab or is surface decoration, how veining aligns at edges and cutouts, and whether adjacent slabs can be matched.
The manufacturer website cites approximately 78% whiteness or purity and about 95% reflectivity, while another marketplace listing states gloss levels up to 98%. These are not interchangeable measures, and they are not established as universal specifications across product lines. Request the test method, finish, series, and sample details behind any figure used in a project submittal. Manufacturer website
Formats, finishes and fabrication
Published slab formats include 2,800 × 1,600 mm, 3,200 × 1,600 mm, and 3,000 × 1,500 mm. Commonly listed thicknesses are 12, 18, and 30 mm; other listings describe products from roughly 10 to 30 mm. These are catalog and listing dimensions, not a guarantee that every size, thickness, finish, or tolerance is available for a given order. The quotation and current technical datasheet should govern. Manufacturer product information
Company materials describe CNC cutting, edge profiling, polishing, drilling, grooving, sandblasting, carving, inkjet printing, and hot bending. Some products are presented as suitable for backlit or translucent applications. Fabrication capability depends on the specific slab and shop equipment: hot bending and large-format work require appropriate machinery, controlled procedures, and manufacturer guidance. A fabricator’s general experience with stone does not by itself establish competence with this material.

How strong are the published performance claims?
The manufacturer and marketplace sources advertise low water absorption, hardness, gloss, scratch and stain resistance, fire performance, and antibacterial properties. The available material does not establish that all figures apply to every series or that the claims have been verified through independent, product-specific testing. The table distinguishes what is reported from what a specifier should establish.
| Property | Published claim | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Water absorption | “Zero” or extremely low absorption is claimed. | Request the test standard, laboratory report, sample size, product series, and result tolerance. |
| Hardness | Mohs 6 to 6.5 or “6+” appears in product material. | Confirm the tested product and method. Mohs hardness alone does not describe impact, abrasion, or edge-chip resistance. |
| Compressive strength | A marketplace listing reports 350–400 MPa. | Require an accredited report identifying the test method and batch; do not generalize the listing to other products. |
| Flexural strength | A marketplace listing reports 94.5 MPa. | Request the standard, specimen details, and series-specific report. |
| Gloss or reflectivity | The company site cites about 95% reflectivity; another listing says gloss up to 98%. | These figures conflict and may describe different measures or finishes. Obtain the relevant test definition and finish-specific value. |
| Fire performance | A marketplace listing claims A1. | Request a valid classification report accepted in the project jurisdiction for the exact product and intended assembly. |
| Radioactivity | A marketplace source claims “no radioactivity.” | Ask for the applicable test report and regulatory basis for the destination market. |
| Antibacterial performance | Antibacterial properties are claimed in marketplace material. | Require the named test method, organism, reduction rate, and information on any treatment or coating. |
| Scratch and stain resistance | Both are marketed as product benefits. | Request abrasion, scratch, and stain test results. Hardness is not a guarantee that a finished surface cannot be scratched or marked. |
| Recyclability | The manufacturer describes the product as recyclable. | Establish whether a processor will accept this material locally and how collection, separation, and transport work. |
For a project specification, add thermal-shock and heat-resistance results, chemical resistance, UV and weathering data for exterior exposure, and slip-resistance results for floors or stairs. A general product brochure is not a substitute for test reports tied to the selected product and intended use. Marketplace technical claims
Where might the material be suitable?
Interior walls and decorative features
Wall panels, feature walls, columns, reception desks, hotel lobbies, and retail or hospitality interiors are plausible uses promoted by the manufacturer. These applications still require suitable substrate preparation, fixing or adhesive design, panel sizing, and handling plans, especially for large panels.

Vanities, bathroom surfaces and furniture
The company markets the slabs for bathroom surfaces, shower areas, tables, and other furniture. Low porosity, if established for the selected product, may help with cleaning, but joints, cutouts, adhesives, chemicals, and maintenance instructions remain important. Confirm the intended exposure and cleaning products with the manufacturer.
Countertops and kitchens
Countertops are among the stated applications. Before using a slab in a residential or commercial kitchen, obtain heat, thermal-shock, stain, chemical, and impact data for the exact product. Specify support around cutouts and overhangs and agree on handling procedures for the finished piece.
Stairs and floors
Stair components and floors demand more than an attractive finish or a hardness claim. Polished surfaces can create slip risks when wet, and stair edges are vulnerable to impact and chipping. Require slip-resistance results appropriate to the location, along with edge, nosing, fixing, and wear details.
Exterior, façade and other high-risk uses
Do not treat a decorative slab as a structural or façade product based on marketing language. Exterior cladding, large unsupported panels, freeze-thaw exposure, wet floors, fireplace surrounds, and areas subject to thermal shock require project-specific engineering and evidence. Depending on the application and jurisdiction, that may include anchoring design, fire classification, weathering, slip testing, and code review.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Is it a sustainable construction material?
There are plausible sustainability questions worth investigating, but the available product information does not establish that the material has lower environmental impact than marble or competing manufactured surfaces. The company describes the product as recyclable and eco-conscious and refers to recycled materials and reduced waste. The sources reviewed do not provide a product-specific environmental product declaration (EPD), life-cycle assessment (LCA), recycled-content percentage, embodied-carbon figure, or project-specific certification. Manufacturer sustainability and product claims
Potential advantages to test
- A durable surface that remains in service for a long time may avoid replacement, if its actual service life and repairability suit the project.
- Low porosity, if documented, could reduce sealing or intensive cleaning needs.
- Manufactured patterns may provide a consistent marble-like appearance without relying on a particular quarry source.
- Reuse or recycling may be possible where material recovery and processing are available.
- Efficient slab layouts, local fabrication, shorter transport routes, and reduced breakage can affect project waste and impact.
Evidence needed for an environmental comparison
High-temperature production, including the manufacturer’s reference to processing up to approximately 1,800°C, makes energy and emissions data particularly relevant. It is a reason to ask for that data, not proof by itself that the product is unsustainable or sustainable. A fair comparison with marble, porcelain, sintered stone, quartz, or glass needs consistent boundaries and units, including transport, installation, service life, and end of life.
Request an ISO 14025-compliant EPD if available, a product-specific LCA, global-warming-potential data, recycled-content figures with pre- or post-consumer status, kiln fuel and electricity sources, water-recycling information, production-waste reuse rates, packaging details, factory environmental certifications, and take-back or end-of-life arrangements. The manufacturer’s website identifies ISO 9001 quality management; ISO 9001 is not an environmental certification, EPD, or evidence of low embodied carbon. Ask separately about ISO 14001 or other environmental credentials and their scope. Manufacturer website

No single material is best for every project. Compare the actual series, fabrication network, tested performance, and installed cost rather than relying on broad category claims.
| Material | Potential reason to consider it | Questions and trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| Natural marble | Authentic geological veining and natural variation. | Consider sealing and maintenance needs, staining, quarry sourcing, slab variation, and the project’s environmental accounting. |
| Porcelain or sintered stone | Often considered for heat exposure, exterior applications, and large-format design. | Confirm product-specific test data and installer capability; fabrication can be demanding and edges may chip. |
| Engineered quartz | Broad distributor availability and a familiar fabrication network in many markets. | Heat and UV limits vary by product; check the manufacturer’s application guidance. |
| Solid surface | Can be seamable and repairable in ways that suit some interiors. | Evaluate scratch and heat performance for the intended use. |
| Architectural glass | Offers transparency and design effects that opaque slabs cannot provide. | Its structural, thermal, and breakage behavior differs; choose a system designed for the application. |
| Other glass-ceramic slabs | May offer a similar material category and design intent. | Compare accredited testing, EPD availability, local distribution, warranty, and minimum order requirements. |
