Indian cement producers were expected to attempt price increases of ₹5–₹20 per bag for October 2026 dispatches, according to a Centrum Broking report cited by ANI on 29 September. That is an expectation, not confirmation that every producer or market implemented the increase, or that it reached retail buyers. The latest reported national trade-price figure was ₹356 per bag in September; a local, dated dealer quote is needed to establish what buyers will pay.

Centrum Broking said companies could attempt increases of ₹5–₹20 per bag across most markets in October. ANI reported the figure on 29 September 2026. What happened to prices in September?
The all-India average trade price rose by ₹7 per bag month on month to ₹356 in September 2026, according to Centrum Broking as cited by ANI. Regional changes were uneven:

These are reported average movements, not current quotations for a particular city, dealer, or cement product. The same report put the all-India average trade price for Q2FY27 at ₹351 per bag, down ₹1 sequentially; weaker prices in July and August offset September’s increase.
Why might an attempted increase not reach buyers?
A producer’s billing price, a dealer’s selling price, and a customer’s delivered price are not necessarily the same. The report noted that company billing increases had not fully passed through in several markets and identified dealer acceptance and demand recovery as factors in whether increases could be sustained. It also pointed to sharply higher fuel prices in recent weeks as a consideration for producers.

As the report put it: “With fuel prices having increased sharply in recent weeks, the ability of companies to implement and sustain price hikes will remain a key monitorable.” The statement is attributed to the Centrum Broking report; no individual speaker is named.

How to check the price for an October delivery
- Ask for a dated local quotation. Confirm the city or delivery area, quote date, dispatch or delivery date, and price per bag.
- Check what the quote covers. Confirm the cement type and brand, bag size, delivery charges, taxes, and any minimum-order conditions.
- Clarify whether it is trade or bulk pricing. A dealer quote for bagged cement may not match a non-trade bulk price or a producer’s billing rate.
- Compare like with like. Get more than one local quote for the same product and delivery terms before treating a reported market movement as your purchase cost.
The September national average of ₹356 per bag is useful context, but it is not a current local selling price or a guarantee of what an October buyer will be charged.
