Andhra Pradesh may also announce separate state or development-authority schemes with different conditions. An online questionnaire or submitted application is only a screening or verification step; it is not a promise of a house, subsidy or allotment.
First identify the scheme and jurisdiction
There is no single eligibility test for every government housing offer in Andhra Pradesh. The same household can receive a different result depending on whether the address is classified as rural or urban, which scheme component is open, and whether a state or local authority has issued separate conditions.

How to check eligibility for PMAY-G in rural Andhra Pradesh
PMAY-G uses an interactive official question flow. It is designed to identify households that may qualify for the rural housing process and to direct eligible respondents toward a self-survey. Treat the outcome as an indication for the next step, not as a final inclusion decision.

1. Confirm that the household is rural
Begin with the residence classification used by the PMAY-G process. If the household actually lives within an urban local body, use the PMAY-U 2.0 path instead. Do not choose the rural route simply because the property is on the outskirts of a town; use the jurisdiction shown by the official local authority.
2. Answer the housing-condition questions accurately
The questionnaire asks whether the household is houseless or living in a kutcha dwelling. It also asks whether any household member owns a pucca house and records the number of rooms in the current dwelling. These answers describe housing need, but they do not by themselves guarantee selection.
3. Complete the asset and financial screening
PMAY-G screening also covers circumstances that can exclude or affect priority. Be ready to answer about:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- Vehicles and agricultural equipment owned by the household.
- The limit on any Kisan Credit Card.
- Whether a household member holds government employment.
- Whether the household operates a registered non-agricultural enterprise.
- Monthly household earnings.
- Payment of income or professional taxes.
- Owned agricultural or other land.
The questionnaire expects a household-level picture, not only the income of the person typing the answers. Include every member requested by the form and use current, supportable information. Do not omit an asset because it is old, jointly owned or not currently producing income; if the form asks for it, report it and allow the verifying authority to assess it.
4. Follow the self-survey and verification instructions
If the question flow indicates that the household can proceed, follow the self-survey instructions shown by the official PMAY-G service. Keep the submission acknowledgement or reference details. A local verification team and the competent authority still determine whether the household is included and sanctioned.

A questionnaire can therefore produce three practical outcomes: it may indicate that the household should continue to a self-survey, show that the household does not pass the initial screen, or require clarification through a local office. None of those outcomes is a construction order or a guaranteed benefit.
How to check eligibility for PMAY-U 2.0 in urban Andhra Pradesh
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs’ 2024 PMAY-U 2.0 Operational Guidelines set the national starting conditions for urban households. The household generally must fall within an eligible income category and must not own a pucca house anywhere in India.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Check the annual household-income band
| PMAY-U 2.0 category | Annual household income in the guidelines |
|---|---|
| EWS | Up to ₹3 lakh |
| LIG | More than ₹3 lakh and up to ₹6 lakh |
| MIG | More than ₹6 lakh and up to ₹9 lakh |
These are annual household-income bands, not individual salary bands. Add the income of the household members covered by the application and use the definition and evidence requested by the current application channel. The guidelines allow a state to redefine the EWS income limit with concurrence from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Consequently, check the live Andhra Pradesh notice or portal instructions rather than assuming that the national EWS figure has been changed or left unchanged.
Check ownership of a pucca house
The PMAY-U 2.0 baseline is that the beneficiary household has no pucca house anywhere in India. Check ownership for every household member included in the application, including a property in another state. A rented home, a kutcha structure and a pucca house are not interchangeable descriptions; use the classification and ownership information requested by the form.
Check the 20-year prior-benefit rule
A household is not eligible to seek PMAY-U 2.0 benefit if it was allotted a house under any Central Government, State or Union Territory Government, or Local Self Government housing scheme during the preceding 20 years, in either an urban or rural area. The Ministry’s guideline states: “The beneficiary who has been allotted house under any of the housing scheme of Central Government, State/UT Government and Local Self Government in last 20 years in urban or rural areas, shall not be eligible to seek benefit under PMAY-U 2.0.”

Check old allotment letters, beneficiary records and family information before applying. A previous application is not the same thing as a previous allotment; the rule concerns an allotted house. If the family record is unclear, ask the ULB or application centre how the authority wants the history documented.
Understand preference categories
PMAY-U 2.0 gives preference to groups including widows, single women, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, transgender persons, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe households, minorities, and other weaker or vulnerable groups. Preference affects priority among otherwise eligible applicants. It does not replace the income, ownership and prior-allotment tests, and it does not guarantee an allotment.
Use the correct urban application channel
For the Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) component, the PMAY-U 2.0 standard operating procedure identifies three submission routes:
- Unified Web Portal: Enter the application through the current PMAY-U 2.0 portal and select the component and project information shown there.
- Common Service Centre: Ask the operator to use the PMAY-U 2.0 application service and review every field before confirming submission.
- Resident ULB or municipality: Apply through the urban local body for the place where the household lives, following its current project and document instructions.
The application data include household-member details, Aadhaar details and address information. The exact fields and supporting documents can vary by component and by the current local checklist, so confirm the list at the portal, CSC or ULB before making a trip.
Submission is not approval. The AHP SOP expressly warns: “Mere submission of an application on the UWP for an AHP project shall not create any right or claim for benefits under the scheme.” Keep the acknowledgement, but wait for due diligence, eligibility verification and the competent authority’s decision.

Prepare the information before you start
Having a complete household record reduces avoidable corrections and helps the verifying office reconcile the application. Prepare:
- Names and relationship of every household member covered by the form.
- Aadhaar details requested for those members.
- Current and permanent addresses, including the urban local body or rural location.
- Present housing condition, room count and whether any household member owns a pucca house.
- Annual or monthly household-income information and the category evidence requested by the live scheme checklist.
- Details of any earlier house allotted through a Central, state, Union Territory or local-government scheme.
- For PMAY-G, information on vehicles, agricultural equipment, Kisan Credit Card limit, government employment, registered non-agricultural enterprise, taxes and land.
Do not assume that Aadhaar alone proves eligibility. Aadhaar-based identity or consent may be used for verification, while housing condition, income, ownership and prior-benefit history still have to be checked under the applicable scheme.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to distinguish PMAY from separate Andhra Pradesh offers
Andhra Pradesh has used state and local housing initiatives with rules that do not match the national PMAY-U 2.0 baseline. Read the title, issuing authority and date of every notice before applying.
Older GSWS and legacy PMAY material
Older Grama-Ward Sachivalayam (GSWS) FAQ material describes historical PMAY component choices, income bands and a ₹25 CSC application charge. It should not be treated as the current PMAY-U 2.0 eligibility rule or as proof that the fee still applies. Confirm any charge and component instruction through the live official channel.
2021 MIG plotted-housing order
Government of Andhra Pradesh Government Order No. 76 from 2021 describes a distinct MIG plot-allotment offer. Its stated conditions include one plot per family, annual household income up to ₹18 lakh, a minimum age of 18, Andhra Pradesh residence and valid Aadhaar. Those conditions belong to that plotted-housing offer; they are not general PMAY-U 2.0 rules. The reviewed order does not establish that a new application round is currently open.

Previous Navaratnalu, Pedalandariki Illu and PMAY-YSR references
A district APSHCL page records earlier Navaratnalu/Pedalandariki Illu and PMAY-YSR urban beneficiary-led construction delivery. That history can explain older records or terminology, but it does not prove that a fresh round is open or that a particular household qualifies now.
APTIDCO demand surveys
An APTIDCO “New permanent house demand survey” page requests consent for Aadhaar-based verification. A demand entry records interest and information; it is not, by itself, a final eligibility decision, sanction or allotment.
A practical decision path
- Classify the address. Decide whether the household belongs to a rural PMAY-G process or an urban PMAY-U 2.0 process using the relevant local jurisdiction.
- Name the scheme. Write down PMAY-G, PMAY-U 2.0, or the exact Andhra Pradesh/local offer named in the notice. If the page does not identify the scheme, pause and confirm with APSHCL or the local authority.
- Check the core tests. Rural applicants should review housing condition and the full PMAY-G asset, income, employment, tax and land questionnaire. Urban applicants should check income band, pucca-house ownership anywhere in India and the 20-year prior-allotment rule.
- Check special conditions. Record any preference category for PMAY-U 2.0 and any offer-specific age, residence, Aadhaar or family conditions for a state or development-authority scheme.
- Submit through the named channel. Use the PMAY-U 2.0 Unified Web Portal, CSC or resident ULB, or the channel identified by the separate offer. Do not substitute an old FAQ or an unrelated survey page.
- Save proof of submission. Keep the acknowledgement, date, reference number and copies of information supplied.
- Complete verification. Respond to requests from the ULB, municipality, panchayat or other competent authority. A screening result remains provisional until the official process records inclusion and sanction.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
- Using urban thresholds for a rural form: PMAY-G does not reduce eligibility to the ₹3 lakh/₹6 lakh/₹9 lakh PMAY-U categories. Answer the rural questionnaire instead.
- Reporting only the applicant’s income: PMAY-U 2.0 categories are household-income categories. Include the household members covered by the application.
- Ignoring property in another state: The urban ownership test concerns a pucca house anywhere in India.
- Forgetting an earlier allotment: Search family records for a government housing allotment during the preceding 20 years, whether the earlier home was rural or urban.
- Treating preference as qualification: A widow, senior citizen, person with a disability or member of another preference group must still satisfy the applicable eligibility tests.
- Assuming a survey equals sanction: PMAY-G self-survey, an APTIDCO demand entry and a portal submission all require subsequent verification.
- Relying on an old fee or deadline: The reviewed material establishes no universal Andhra Pradesh fee, statewide deadline or current enrollment period. Confirm the live notice before paying or travelling.
- Submitting to the wrong authority: A municipality, ULB, panchayat, APSHCL channel and development authority may handle different offers. Match the channel to the named scheme.
What result should you expect?
The most reliable outcome of the first check is a clear next action, not an immediate promise. A rural household may be directed to self-survey and local verification. An urban household may be able to submit through the portal, CSC or ULB if it passes the initial PMAY-U 2.0 conditions. A separate AP offer may require a different form and may not currently have an open round.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Before relying on any result, confirm the current PMAY-U 2.0 guidelines and the latest Andhra Pradesh or local notice. Eligibility rules, approved income definitions, project availability and document checklists can change. Use APSHCL and the relevant ULB or municipality for the final local instruction, and retain every acknowledgement until the authority records a final decision.
