Hong Kong’s Construction Industry Safety Excellence Award 2026 is a new Labour Department and Occupational Safety and Health Council (OSHC) initiative recognizing organizations and frontline workers for strong occupational safety and health management. Its forum and award presentation ceremony was listed for 9 October 2026. The official material available here confirms the schedule and purpose, but does not verify the ceremony’s outcome or identify awardees.
What is the Construction Industry Safety Excellence Award 2026?
It is a Hong Kong construction-industry recognition program jointly organized by the Labour Department and OSHC. The organizers describe its aims as strengthening safety culture, recognizing organizations and frontline workers that excel in occupational safety and health management, and establishing safety benchmarks for the industry. The Labour Department’s Construction Safety page lists the award, while OSHC’s award page sets out its purpose.

When was the ceremony scheduled?
OSHC listed the “Construction Industry Safety Excellence Award 2026 Forum and Award Presentation Ceremony” for 9 October 2026. The Hong Kong Civil Service Bureau calendar independently listed the same event on that date. These listings establish the published schedule, not whether the event took place or what happened there.

The official description explains the integration but does not establish a one-to-one mapping between the earlier programs’ categories and the new award’s categories. OSHC’s award description and 2026 booklet provide the program’s published background.
What does the previous scheme show?
As context—not as a 2026 participation figure—the Labour Department reported that 259 construction sites took part in the 2025 Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme. Its 4 May 2025 release also described contractors, site personnel and frontline workers among those recognized. Who won the 2026 awards?
No 2026 awardee list or post-event account is established by the official sources cited here. Accordingly, awardees, winning categories, attendance, remarks and whether the event proceeded cannot be confirmed from those sources. The Labour Department’s construction safety page also provides access to earlier scheme materials and results.
