According to the company’s history, Guy C. Lee started a millwork and manufacturing company in downtown Smithfield, North Carolina, in 1924. The business later added a retail building supply store and sawmill. The company says it remains headquartered in downtown Smithfield and is owned by Guy Lee’s direct descendants.
