The available reporting identifies three stadium projects, not four, and does not independently confirm that all are under construction. It describes proposed venues in Hanoi and Morocco, plus Manchester United’s planned replacement for Old Trafford. Their reported capacities and costs are not verified on a like-for-like basis, so the headline figures need qualification.
What can be established about the four-project claim?
An AOL UK / Mirror Football article dated October 11, 2026, is the source for the project details available here. Its accessible excerpt names or refers to three projects. It does not identify the fourth or provide enough evidence to confirm the current construction status of each. The figures below should therefore be read as claims attributed to that report, not as independently verified project specifications.

The stadium projects named in the report
VinFast Trong Dong Stadium, Hanoi
The report describes VinFast Trong Dong as a planned 135,000-seat stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam, within the wider Olympic Sports City development. It says construction began nine months before the article’s October 11, 2026 publication date and that an opening was hoped for by July 2027. Those are reported claims; no project-owner or government confirmation of the start date, capacity or schedule is established here.
The same report puts the project cost at about $38 billion (£28.8 billion). The estimate’s date, scope and basis are not stated in the available excerpt, and the currencies should not be treated as a verified conversion or comparable construction budget.

Hassan II Stadium, Morocco
The report describes Hassan II Stadium as a planned 115,000-seat venue associated with the 2030 World Cup, named after Hassan II of Morocco. The available information does not independently confirm its capacity, construction status, delivery schedule or tournament role.
Manchester United’s proposed stadium
The report says the proposed stadium would be 350 metres north-west of Old Trafford and gives an estimated cost of £2 billion. It also raises the possibility that an updated 2026 estimate could double, but the excerpt does not establish that as a confirmed budget. Treat the £2 billion figure as a reported estimate, not a settled project cost; no confirmed opening date or construction start is established here.

Why the figures cannot be compared directly
A capacity figure may describe a planned maximum rather than the number of seats available for a particular event or in normal operation. Cost figures may cover different project scopes and stages, and the available report does not supply a common estimate date or method. The headline amounts therefore do not establish which project is most expensive per seat or provide a reliable cost ranking.

The UK Infrastructure Pipeline provides government project-status and expected-completion information; the available material does not establish a relevant entry for Manchester United’s proposal.

What remains unconfirmed
- The identity of the fourth stadium in the headline.
- Whether each named project is currently under construction, rather than proposed or at another planning stage.
- Officially stated capacities, cost estimates and estimate scopes for the projects.
- Confirmed opening dates and, for Hassan II Stadium, independently confirmed tournament use.
On the evidence available, these are three projects reported in connection with exceptionally large stadium plans—not a verified list of four venues all under construction now.
