The transaction covers different businesses in each country: asphalt plants and land- and marine-based aggregate sites in Denmark, and hard-rock quarries, backfilling and recycling operations in Finland. The agreement is conditional, and CRH expects the acquisition to complete in 2027.
What is CRH buying from NCC?
The agreement covers NCC Industry’s operations in Denmark and Finland, not a single quarry, plant or product. NCC Industry develops, produces and sells stone materials and asphalt products for construction and infrastructure projects. The businesses remain part of NCC AB until the transaction closes.

CRH says the acquisition will add teams, operating locations and customer relationships to its Nordic business. Those are expected benefits, not outcomes already delivered. CRH International President Peter Buckley described the deal as “strongly aligned with CRH’s strategy to build an aggregates-led, connected portfolio aligned with growing infrastructure megatrends.” CRH’s announcement presents that as the company’s strategic rationale.
What operations are included in Denmark and Finland?

The descriptions of the businesses and their strategic fit come from CRH’s transaction announcement. The company has not published transaction-specific counts of facilities or employees, production figures, or reserve volumes in the consulted announcement, so the networks cannot be compared by operating scale from those details.

How much is the deal worth?
CRH has not disclosed a separate purchase price for the Denmark and Finland operations in the consulted announcement. A figure of SEK 8.2 billion reported by legal adviser Gernandt & Danielsson is the enterprise value of NCC AB’s wider divestment of NCC Industry, which also includes operations in Sweden and Norway acquired by Heidelberg Materials. It is not the disclosed price of CRH’s portion. Gernandt & Danielsson’s matter note provides that wider-transaction context.
When is the acquisition expected to close?
CRH says completion is expected during 2027, subject to applicable approvals and customary closing conditions. CRH Denmark gives a more specific current expectation of the second half of 2027 for the Danish businesses; this is an expectation, not a guaranteed completion date. The announcements do not identify particular regulatory authorities, filings or approval decisions. CRH’s release and CRH Denmark’s announcement describe the expected timing and conditions.

CRH’s distributed release also cautions that expected timing and benefits are forward-looking statements: they depend on circumstances that may not occur and should not be relied on unduly. The Business Wire distribution of the release includes that caution.

No immediate changes are planned for existing Danish collaborations, contacts, contracts, purchase orders or service agreements while the businesses remain independent, according to CRH Denmark. More broadly, CRH says the acquired businesses will continue to operate independently until completion. The customer-facing assurance specifically names Denmark; the announcement does not provide a corresponding item-by-item assurance for Finland.
