Overview

Home Design 3D is a home-design app for planning and remodeling in three dimensions. It covers floor plans along with interior and exterior projects, so homeowners can use it to shape a room layout or consider a broader renovation. It is a planning and visualization tool; the listed information does not specify construction estimating, scheduling, or job-management functions.

Users can draw rooms, adjust wall heights, and design across multiple floors. The object library contains over 2,500 customizable furniture pieces, accessories, and materials. Users can also share projects and find ideas in a community the company describes as having over 90 million users. A feature for viewing and visiting a project as if present in it is available on iOS only.

The first version was released on iOS in October 2011, and versions were later developed for Android, PC, and Mac. The company is headquartered in Tre Ville, Trentino, Italy. Features and subscription terms differ across platforms, making it important to check the offer for the device you intend to use.

Key features

Layouts and floors

The app supports room drawing, wall-height adjustments, floor plan import, and multi-floor design. The listed export format is PDF. Its home page also lists project and texture import, unlimited floors, and advanced roofs among product features. These capabilities give homeowners ways to develop and communicate a layout, but the available details do not explain the specific import requirements or the level of technical detail in exported plans.

Objects and project viewing

The library includes over 2,500 customizable furniture pieces, accessories, and materials. That selection can help users represent rooms and exterior projects with objects and finishes while developing a design. The app also offers project viewing and virtual visits, but this feature is marked as iOS only, so users on other platforms should not assume it is included for them.

Sharing and additional outputs

Project sharing and community inspiration are part of the app’s feature set. The home page also lists VR export and 3D printing and .obj export. Project creation and saving are listed alongside ads removal. The feature list does not specify which subscription or platform unlocks each item, so buyers should confirm the applicable tier before relying on a particular output.

Business and product uses

The company describes use cases for business-space creators and real-estate professionals, including presenting 3D plans, virtual visits, and 3D-printed models. It also offers manufacturers and furniture distributors the option to have products integrated into the object library and linked to an e-commerce site. These are distinct business-facing uses alongside the homeowner’s room and renovation planning.

Pricing

Home Design 3D uses a freemium model, with a free plan and a free trial. The general pricing note says paid access starts at $2.99. The privacy policy describes limited app features for free users and subscription access for unlimited features. The subscription terms say a free trial can be canceled through store settings at least 24 hours before it ends; no trial duration is stated.

The listed subscriptions are auto-renewing. Some entries describe the equivalent monthly rate while billing for a longer or shorter stated term, so the billing term matters when comparing them.

Platforms

Home Design 3D is listed for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows. Floor plan import, PDF export, and multi-floor design are among the listed capabilities. The iOS-only virtual visit feature is an important platform distinction. The pricing details also vary by operating system and by whether a yearly plan is described as mobile or desktop.

Who it's for

Homeowners planning a build or renovation may find the room drawing, adjustable wall heights, multiple floors, and customizable objects useful for working through a design before committing to materials or a layout. The app’s stated scope includes interior and exterior projects, making it relevant beyond individual rooms. The available feature details do not establish how closely a design corresponds to construction documents, so contractors should confirm whether its outputs fit their project workflow.

Business-space creators and real-estate professionals are also named as users, with presentation of 3D plans, virtual visits, and 3D-printed models cited as use cases. Manufacturers and furniture distributors have a separate opportunity to place products in the object library and connect them to an e-commerce website.
