Overview

Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is a construction software portfolio for connecting work from design and planning through building and operations. For a home build or renovation, that can mean coordinating project records, field activity, bids, and cost information across the people involved in the job. Autodesk’s offerings cover model management, construction operations, and preconstruction rather than presenting a single feature set for every team.

ACC includes tools for RFIs, submittals, schedules, and meeting minutes. Autodesk Build subscriptions add project, quality, safety, and cost management features, with access to Autodesk Docs and the mobile app. The portfolio also includes bid management, project financials, and field reporting.

Homeowners comparing options can browse our Construction management software and Construction project management software lists. For contractors, the choice depends on which workflows and products are needed, since the listed bundles span coordination, bidding, takeoff, estimating, and closeout.

Key features

Project coordination and field work

Project management tools cover RFIs, submittals, schedules, and meeting minutes. Autodesk Build brings project, quality, safety, and cost management together in its subscription, alongside Autodesk Docs access.

The mobile app supports viewing models and sheets, making field markups, and working offline. Field users can log issues, manage RFIs and checklists, and work with photos and submittals. These functions can help carry project information between the office and the job site.

Connected tools and integrations

Autodesk says Forma has more than 200 direct integrations through APIs and Partner Cards. Its no-code platform can also support automations across more than 300 SaaS applications. Named accounting and business connections include QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Xero, Acumatica, DocuSign, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Smartsheet, Excel Online, and Google Sheets.

Security and support

Autodesk’s security whitepaper describes AES-256 encrypted storage for uploaded files and TLS encryption for sensitive network traffic. It also describes role-based least-privilege access, regular security scans and penetration tests, and two-factor authentication. The whitepaper names SOC 2 attestation and ISO 27001, ISO 27017, and ISO 27018 certifications; it says ACC was scheduled for inclusion in Autodesk’s next annual SOC2 and ISO audit.

The pricing page says an expert support team is available 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday.

ACC is paid software. Pricing is on request, and there is no free plan. Autodesk lists the following bundles as billed “Get a Quote”; no prices are listed for them.

Who it's for

Autodesk says bid management software can benefit general contractors, subcontractors, project owners, estimators, and construction managers. Its wider portfolio may also suit teams that need to coordinate project management, field operations, preconstruction, or model-related work. Homeowners may encounter ACC through the contractor managing their build or renovation; the listed capabilities are oriented toward construction teams and project workflows.

Pros and cons

Pros: The portfolio covers project coordination, field work, bidding, and project financials, with mobile tools and a broad set of named integrations.
Pros: The Forma Data Management trial lasts 30 days and has no project or file-storage limits.
Cons: Prices are available only by request, and there is no free plan.
Cons: The portfolio spans many products and bundles, so buyers need to identify which offerings match their workflows.

Alternatives

Contractors comparing construction project and operations tools can also consider InEight, CMiC, HCSS, Jonas Construction Software, Procore, Dalux, Archdesk, and VPO.

Verdict

Autodesk Construction Cloud brings together project management, field capabilities, bid management, financials, and model-oriented products under a connected construction portfolio. It is worth considering when a contractor needs several of those workflows and wants integrations with business tools already in use. The main buying questions are which products are required and what they will cost: bundle prices are not listed, and prospective buyers need to request a quote. Forma Data Management provides a defined 30-day trial for teams that want to evaluate that offering before choosing.
