Measure your contents before choosing a model

Interpreting the 300-pound figure
Suncast labels 300 pounds as the lid’s weight capacity. That describes the maker’s stated ability of the lid, not a permission to sit, climb, or store a 300-pound object on it in every position. Measure the installation area in three directions before delivery: width, depth, and height with the lid fully open. Add clearance for the lid’s arc and for a person to stand in front of the box while lifting contents. Leave drainage space beneath or around the base so water does not pool against the floor. A level, firm surface reduces twisting that can misalign hinges and pistons.
