What “nine configurations” means
Each AMP SECURE contemporary flood light has two selector groups: three wattage settings and three correlated color temperature (CCT) settings. Combining them creates nine operating configurations in a single fixture; it does not mean that nine separate fixtures are supplied.

AFL-4034 or AFL-4035: which size fits the project?
Choose by required light level, mounting height, coverage, and available electrical capacity rather than by wattage alone. The small AFL-4034 is intended for lower-output applications such as entries, patios, backyards, and small building elevations. The AFL-4035 provides substantially more light for larger façades, activity areas, drive approaches, and commercial security lighting.
| Decision factor | AFL-4034 | AFL-4035 |
|---|---|---|
| Lowest selectable output | Approximately 2,500 lumens at 15W | Approximately 7,000 lumens at 40W |
| Highest selectable output | Approximately 5,300 lumens at 35W | Approximately 12,500 lumens at 80W |
| Typical role | Entries, residential elevations, yards, and compact areas | Large elevations, activity areas, commercial sites, and broad security coverage |
| Best reason to specify it | Moderate illumination with a smaller power envelope | Greater reach and coverage where a higher lumen package is needed |
Mounting height and optical distribution matter as much as the headline lumen number. A high-output fixture mounted close to the target can create glare and hot spots, while an undersized fixture mounted high may leave dark areas. Use the selected output with a lighting layout that considers beam spread, wall reflectance, setbacks, and neighboring properties.
How to select the nine operating combinations
- Establish the lighting task. Identify whether the fixture is lighting a doorway, a wall, a pedestrian route, a yard, a loading area, or a broader security zone. Mark the target area and the desired mounting location.
- Estimate the required lumen range. Start with the lowest output that can meet the task after accounting for mounting height, obstructions, surface color, and the number of fixtures. Reserve the higher settings for larger areas or greater distance.
- Pick the wattage selector. On the AFL-4034, select 15W, 25W, or 35W. On the AFL-4035, select 40W, 60W, or 80W. The corresponding approximate lumen outputs are listed in the table above.
- Choose the CCT. Select 3000K for a warmer, residential appearance; 4000K for a neutral white useful around entrances and general circulation; or 5000K for a cooler appearance often chosen where visual contrast is a priority.
- Verify the setting before closing the housing. Selector access and labeling can vary by production revision. Follow the current installation instructions, and record the final wattage and CCT in the commissioning notes.
Changing the CCT does not create three different fixtures. It changes the light source color setting inside the same luminaire. Likewise, selecting a higher wattage changes the available light output and electrical load; it does not add a second LED engine.

Electrical requirements and control options
Both models accept universal 120–277V input, allowing use on common residential, institutional, and commercial branch circuits within that range. Have a qualified electrician verify the actual supply voltage, conductor sizing, disconnecting means, grounding, and local code requirements.
The official 80W AFL-4035 product information documents an integrated photocontrol for dusk-to-dawn operation and standard 0–10V dimming. These features are particularly useful on the high-output setting, where scheduled or daylight-responsive control can reduce operating hours and energy use.
Photocontrol planning
- Place the fixture so the photocontrol can sense representative daylight rather than light reflected from a nearby wall or another luminaire.
- Keep the sensor clear of overhangs, foliage, and accessories that could cause premature switching.
- If a site uses a central lighting-control system, confirm whether the integrated photocontrol should remain active or be coordinated with the external control strategy.
0–10V dimming planning
Use the control wiring method and polarity specified by the current instructions. Separate low-voltage dimming conductors from line-voltage conductors as required by the applicable electrical code, and confirm that the dimmer or control system is compatible with the luminaire. Do not assume that every selector setting has identical dimming behavior without checking the product documentation.
Mounting, aiming, and installation features
AMP describes a universal mounting bracket, an easy-install decorative plate, a security tether, and up to 180 degrees of head rotation or adjustment. Those features are intended to make one-person installation and final aiming easier, but they do not replace structural verification of the mounting surface.
- Confirm the substrate. Check that the wall, junction box, pole arm, or ground-mount arrangement can carry the fixture and withstand wind loads. Use fasteners and anchors appropriate to the substrate and local conditions.
- Plan cable entry and drainage. Keep conduit, gaskets, and cable entries arranged according to the installation sheet so the IP66 enclosure remains sealed.
- Attach the bracket and tether. Install the universal bracket and security tether before lifting or final tightening, following the manufacturer’s sequence.
- Set wattage and CCT with power isolated. Turn off and lock out the circuit, then set the selectors to the planned combination.
- Connect and secure the wiring. Complete line, neutral, ground, and any control conductors using approved methods. Replace covers and tighten hardware evenly.
- Aim the head. Use the available adjustment range to place light on the target rather than into windows, roads, or neighboring properties. Tighten the adjustment hardware after aiming.
- Commission at night. Check for dark zones, glare, unwanted spill, photocontrol operation, and dimming response. Correct the aim or selector setting before handing over the installation.
Housing, optics, and environmental protection
The fixtures use die-cast aluminum housings, corrosion-resistant powder-coat finishes, clear polycarbonate lenses, and sealed IP66 construction for wet locations. IP66 indicates protection against dust ingress and powerful water jets; it does not authorize submersion or installation that contradicts the manufacturer’s orientation instructions.
AMP lists UL certification, DLC listing, dark-sky-friendly performance, 4kV surge protection, and an 80 CRI light source on the current 80W product page. FacilitiesNet describes NEMA 7×7 optics and low-glare illumination for the contemporary flood-light models. Confirm that the exact model and revision carry the certification or listing needed for the project, utility rebate, or specification.
Dark-sky and glare considerations
- Aim only at the surfaces and routes that need illumination; do not use the 180-degree adjustment range to throw light above the horizon.
- Use the lowest effective wattage to limit spill and preserve visual comfort.
- Review the installation from nearby windows and public viewpoints after dark.
- Check local outdoor-lighting ordinances, especially in areas with dark-sky requirements.
Applications and layout decisions
AMP positions the family for building exteriors, backyards, activity areas, entries, and residential or commercial security-lighting projects. Wall and ground mounting are both described, but the exact bracket, anchor, and aiming method must match the installation type.
Rank #2
- 75W Brightness & Energy Saving: Come with 112 led units, the 75w LED flood light outdoor produces up to 7000 lm brightness, brighter than other 75W outdoor flood light. Equivalent to 400W traditional low efficiency bulbs, Our Onforu with low energy consumption, it can save more than 85% electricity bill
- Switch Controlled: this exterior flood lights can be turned on/off only by wall switch. NO motion sensor, NO solar, NO dusk to dawn
- Light Up Wide Area: 3 light heads can be adjusted to different angle, the illumination area is wider, and the illumination angle is as high as 270°
- IP65 waterproof & Install Easily: the eave mount security lights withstand rain, sleet or snow weather, fit for Entryways, Yard, etc. The hard wired exterior flood lights can be easily installed by mounting to a junction box with simple wiring steps
- Efficient Cooling: This led security lights is made of die cast aluminum, which dissipates heat better than other brands and lasts longer
For a building perimeter, distribute fixtures so their patterns overlap modestly without creating bright bands at each beam center. At an entry, prioritize faces, steps, locks, and threshold surfaces rather than simply maximizing lumens. For a yard or activity area, consider the mounting height and the possibility that users will look toward the fixture; a lower CCT and lower output may improve comfort even when the maximum setting is electrically available.

Material, conduit, controls, lift access, anchoring, labor, and permitting are separate project costs. If a rebate depends on DLC status, wattage, CCT, or a particular model number, obtain written confirmation before substituting a different configuration.
Common specification and installation pitfalls
Assuming every setting is automatically compliant
A luminaire can carry a listing while a particular project still fails a local requirement. Verify the selected model, control method, mounting orientation, surge protection requirements, and disconnect provisions with the authority having jurisdiction.
Choosing by watts instead of delivered light
Watts describe electrical input, not the amount of useful light on a surface. Compare the approximate lumen setting with mounting height, optic distribution, and the area to be illuminated.

Ignoring control wiring
An integrated photocontrol and 0–10V dimming can simplify operation, but only when the control conductors, dimmer, and commissioning plan are compatible. Resolve those details before rough-in.
Overlooking environmental exposure
IP66 and a powder-coated aluminum housing support wet-location use, but salt air, industrial chemicals, severe pollution, and impact hazards may require additional project-specific review. Inspect gaskets, lenses, and coating condition during maintenance.
Failing to document the selectors
Record each fixture’s model, wattage, CCT, control connection, and aiming angle. Documentation prevents a future technician from replacing a 15W or 40W setting with the maximum output simply because it is available.
Commissioning and maintenance checklist
- Confirm model number: AFL-4034 or AFL-4035.
- Record selected wattage and CCT.
- Verify 120–277V supply and grounding.
- Test photocontrol operation where fitted.
- Test 0–10V dimming where specified.
- Check bracket, tether, anchors, and adjustment hardware.
- Inspect lens clarity, housing coating, seals, and cable entries.
- Check glare, trespass light, and dark areas after sunset.
- Retain certification, rebate, and installation records for the exact revision installed.
AMP Lighting’s stated purpose for the AMP SECURE line is to give contractors access to high-quality, competitively priced products without requiring distributor purchasing, according to President John DiNardi. That contractor-oriented approach is most useful when the installer still verifies the project’s photometric, electrical, code, and environmental requirements rather than treating the selectable settings as a substitute for design.
