Available records document Palliser upholstered-seating production in Winnipeg, Canada, and company statements have also described manufacturing or operations in Mexico, China, and Indonesia. Those records do not establish where any particular current Palliser model was made. For an item-specific answer, check its country-of-origin label or ask the authorized retailer about that exact model.
What is known about Palliser’s manufacturing locations?
The records describe different dates and scopes, so they show a changing or broader company footprint—not the origin of every piece of furniture.
- Winnipeg, Canada: A 2021 Canada Border Services Agency statement about an investigation initiated in 2020 said Palliser manufactured upholstered domestic seating at its Canadian facility in Winnipeg. - Canada and Mexico: In a September 2017 release, Palliser said it made made-to-order leather and fabric upholstered furniture at facilities in Canada and Mexico. It named Winnipeg, Saltillo, and Matamoros as manufacturing locations. The release announced a new 65,000-square-foot Matamoros facility and said it was expected to employ up to 180 people; those were company-reported facility and planned staffing figures from 2017, not current counts. - China and Indonesia: In March 2020, Palliser reported operations in Canada, Mexico, Indonesia, and China, and said it produced case pieces as well as fabric and leather upholstered products. This establishes what the company reported at that time; it does not show which products came from which country. Palliser’s 2020 announcement.
Together, the records support saying that Palliser has reported operations in China, while also documenting production in Canada and Mexico. They do not establish Palliser’s current production footprint or the share of products made in each country.
Why a company’s locations do not identify a sofa’s origin
A brand can operate facilities in several countries without every product being made in every facility. A company-wide statement about operations is not a country-of-origin label, and an older facility announcement cannot identify the factory that made a newly sold item. Likewise, a Canadian company address or a documented Winnipeg facility does not prove that a specific model was made in Canada.

Palliser’s warranty document, marked October 2025, identifies Palliser Furniture Upholstery Ltd. in Winnipeg but does not specify the origin of any model. For warranty help, it directs customers to the authorized retailer from whom they bought the product. Palliser’s warranty information.

- Check the item itself. Look for the country-of-origin label on the furniture or its packaging. Match the label to the exact item rather than relying on a general brand description.
- Check the model paperwork. Review the product documentation or order records for an origin statement tied to the model or item.
- Ask the authorized retailer. Give the retailer the model name and any identifying information from your order, and request written confirmation of that item’s country of origin. Palliser’s warranty directs customers to the original authorized retailer for warranty help, making that retailer a practical contact for product questions as well.
- If the answer is unclear, ask what it applies to. Confirm that the response concerns your exact model or item, not Palliser’s general manufacturing footprint.
Older company announcements are useful context, but only item-level evidence can settle the origin of a particular piece.
