Open the refrigerator and check the product label on the inside left wall. Samsung also places a second model-and-serial label on the lower-left exterior. Read the field marked “Serial Number” or “Serial” — the model code appears on the same label but is a different identifier.
Where to look first
- Check inside the refrigerator. Open the door and look along the inside left wall for the product label. Depending on the model, it may be positioned on the left side of a compartment rather than immediately visible on the wall.
- Check the lower-left exterior. Samsung identifies a second label at the bottom left of the refrigerator’s exterior. Look there if you cannot find or read the interior label.
Samsung’s guidance describes these general locations, but the exact interior position can vary by refrigerator style and region. Samsung Canada notes that its instructions are tailored to Canadian products and regional differences may exist: Samsung Canada’s model and serial number guide. Samsung Saudi Arabia likewise directs owners to the top-left interior and bottom-left exterior: Samsung Saudi Arabia’s refrigerator guide.
Interior label location by refrigerator style
Samsung Philippines gives these style-specific locations. Use them as a guide to which compartment to inspect, not as a guarantee that every regional variant has an identical label position.

These locations come from Samsung Philippines’ refrigerator label instructions, last updated July 13, 2021. The page says, “You can find the serial number and model number of your fridge on the device itself.”

Make sure you have the serial number, not the model code
The product label contains both identifiers. Find the field specifically marked “Serial Number” or “Serial” and copy that value; do not substitute the model code. Samsung Canada lists typical model-code prefixes that can help identify refrigerator style: RF for French door, RS for side-by-side, RB or RL for bottom mount, and RT for top mount. Those prefixes identify model codes, not serial numbers.

Check both the interior location appropriate to your refrigerator style and the lower-left exterior. If neither label is present or legible, contact Samsung support for guidance; have the refrigerator’s model information and proof of purchase available if you have them.
