What UB means
Samsung describes UB and UE as unbalanced-load or spinning errors. When laundry gathers on one side of the drum, the washer may stop or be unable to complete its spin. Samsung India says the machine stops spinning for safety when it detects an unbalanced load. Samsung UK’s troubleshooting guidance and Samsung India’s UE/UB guidance describe the same general issue, but instructions and limits are not universal across models.

How to clear the error
- Pause and wait before opening. Do not force the door. Once it is safe to open, remove tangles and redistribute the clothes evenly around the drum, then close the door and restart the cycle. Samsung recommends this approach for UB/UE. Samsung UK · Samsung US
- Consider whether the load is too small or contains one bulky item. A single bathrobe or pair of jeans may not balance well. For an unusually small load, Samsung UK suggests adding one or two towels and running Rinse/Spin. Do not add items automatically: an overloaded washer can also have trouble, so follow the load limits in your manual.
- Check the washer’s placement. The machine should stand on a flat, stable surface, with all feet firmly touching the floor and adjusted as directed in its manual. A spirit level can help check placement, but it is optional; redistributing the laundry is the first step.
- Check the program and load size. Make sure the washer is not overloaded and that the selected cycle suits the fabric and load. Use the manual for your model’s specific limits, especially for bulky bedding.
Codes that look similar may differ
Samsung US groups Ub, U6, Ur, UE, 1 Ub, 1U6, and some model-dependent dc* codes under unbalanced-load errors. That does not mean every code has the same meaning on every washer. Samsung notes that Ur indicates the washer will retry balancing, while dc can refer to a door error on some models.
