Tyrese Gibson’s Atlanta house tour features two Transformers sculptures, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, each described as about 16 feet tall. The tour was published by Architectural Digest in June 2021, when it presented Gibson’s Buckhead mansion as a French Chateau-style home of roughly 25,000 square feet with seven bedrooms. The figures below are what the 2021 tour reported, not current facts about the property.
Where the two Transformers appear in the tour
The Architectural Digest feature, written by Heidi Mitchell with photography by Mali Azima and published June 24, 2021, identifies two sculptures of about 16 feet each. Its photo gallery places them in two different parts of the property, so they read as deliberate focal points rather than a single display.
Bumblebee in the foyer
The gallery places Bumblebee in the foyer, the first space a visitor sees when entering the house.
Optimus Prime by the pool
The gallery places Optimus Prime by the pool, which ties the sculpture to the home’s outdoor entertaining areas.

Why Gibson bought them
Gibson says he bought the sculptures for a future Atlanta film studio. He describes their effect on visitors in the Architectural Digest feature: “The kids and the adults love Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. They are such random things to see, and they are like 16 feet tall.” The 2021 reporting does not establish whether the sculptures remain at the house today, so treat their placement as a 2021 observation.

How Gibson described the house
Gibson frames the home around hospitality. In the feature he says he wanted guests to feel the regal atmosphere of the house: “I wanted guests to feel the regal energy, the regal vibe.” He also addresses how the home is used day to day: “But it’s very livable. No one comes into my house and, I’m like, I’m sorry, you can’t sit here.”
He ties the house to his own history as well, saying: “I grew up in poverty, with every form of public aid, while my mom worked multiple jobs and raised four kids on her own.” That remark is personal background from the feature, not a statement about the property.
What the 2021 tour does not establish
- Current ownership. The tour shows the home as it was presented in 2021. It does not confirm who owns the property today.
- Current location of the sculptures. The sculptures are described at the house in 2021. The reporting does not confirm they are still there.
- Furniture availability. Suppliers named in the feature may have changed products or discontinued them since 2021.
- Later coverage. A July 2026 newsletter by Glennda Baker repeats the mansion description. It is a secondary source, and its figures trace back to the 2021 tour.
For any claim about the house today, the 2021 Architectural Digest feature and video remain the primary sources, and a current property record or direct statement from Gibson’s representatives would be needed to update them.
What a builder should take from the figures
For readers following residential construction, the useful lesson is how to read press figures. A reported 25,000 square feet, six stories and a yard of more than two acres describe the house as presented. They do not show how the structure was built, what permits were issued, or how the floor area was measured. Those details require county permit records or the owner’s own documentation.
