Toronto Botanical Garden: A Visitor’s Guide

Toronto Botanical Garden offers free outdoor admission, 17 themed gardens and TTC access near Leslie and Lawrence. Check parking rates and current ravine trail closures before you go.

Toronto Botanical Garden’s outdoor gardens are free to visit and open daily from dawn to dusk. Find them at 777 Lawrence Avenue East, beside Edwards Gardens. Plan for paid parking if you drive, and check the garden’s current notices before setting out for ravine trails.

Admission, hours and location

The outdoor gardens are free to enter and open daily from dawn to dusk. The Visitor Centre is listed as open daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; holiday schedules may differ, so check the official visit page before travelling.

The address is 777 Lawrence Avenue East, Toronto, Ontario M3C 1P2. TTC buses serve the nearby Leslie Street and Lawrence Avenue East intersection, with the entrance close by. See the garden’s directions and visit information to plan your route.

What to see and do

The garden features 17 themed gardens planted with local, native and pollinator-friendly plants. Pick up a self-guided map, book a guided tour, or look for the “What’s in Bloom” display in the Visitor Centre. Programs and events offer additional ways to explore; check the garden’s visitor information for current offerings and dates.

The Garden Shop sells items such as seeds, gardening books, seasonal bulbs and plants, and locally made goods. Purchases support the Garden, but shopping is entirely optional. Café operation is seasonal, so confirm current hours if you are counting on food service.

Parking and driving

The adjacent paid lot lists rates effective June 1, 2026, of $4 per hour up to a $16 daily maximum. Pay at a meter or through TAP2PARK. Toronto Botanical Garden members receive free parking. The lot is enforced 24 hours a day, and overnight parking is not permitted. Check the parking page for current rates and payment details.

Trail access and current closures

A Toronto Botanical Garden notice updated September 17, 2026, reports that storm damage caused washouts to parts of the Edwards Gardens ravine trail system and bridges. Affected sections are closed until further notice; the notice provides no reopening date. Check the current visitor notice before planning a ravine walk, and follow posted closure signs.

Accessibility and animals

The garden describes its outdoor gardens and Visitor Centre as accessible. For questions about a particular route or accommodation, contact the garden before your visit. Trained service animals are welcome; dogs and other pets are not permitted.
