Which router fits your priorities?
For visibility and adjustment on a corded router: DEWALT DWP611
The DWP611 pairs a clear sub-base and dual LEDs with variable speed and standard-base depth travel of up to 1.5 inches, as listed by DEWALT. Its product page specifies a maximum speed rather than a low-to-high range, so the published figure is not directly comparable to models with a stated variable-speed range.
For a plunge base in the kit: Makita RT0701CX7
The CX7 package includes a plunge base and straight guide, adding options without requiring those listed kit components to be sourced separately. Makita lists 3.9 lb net weight and 1-3/8 inches of plunge capacity. Confirm that the package is the CX7 kit: the RT0701C tool-only version is a different bundle.

For low listed weight and a broad speed range: Bosch PR20EVS Colt
Bosch lists the PR20EVS at 3.3 lb, the lowest listed weight among these models with a stated weight, and gives a variable speed range of 16,000–35,000 RPM. Its macro and micro depth adjustment may be useful when setting cut depth precisely. Bosch also lists a fixed-base depth range of 1-3/16 inches.
For users already invested in M18 batteries: Milwaukee M18 FUEL 2723-20
The 2723-20 is the cordless option in this comparison. Milwaukee lists variable speed from 10,000 to 31,000 RPM and compatibility with plunge and offset bases, which are sold separately. Factor in the battery platform you use and the cost and availability of any bases needed for your work; the cited product page does not state weight or depth range.

- Speed information: A maximum RPM figure is not the same as a stated adjustable range. Do not infer equivalent performance from RPM or horsepower alone.
