REICH Easydriver is a range of caravan manoeuvring devices, not one specific model. Its rollers press against the caravan tyres and move the caravan slowly for positioning. The two single-axle examples compared here, easydriver basic and easydriver pro 2.0, share the same listed climbing figures but differ in weight class and how their rollers engage. REICH product information and manuals establish specifications and operating guidance; they do not provide independent comparative test results.
What is the REICH Easydriver?
An Easydriver is a caravan mover: a device that drives rollers against the tyres to help position a caravan without moving it by hand or using the towing vehicle. REICH offers several models. This comparison focuses on the single-axle basic and pro 2.0, so it should not be read as a review of every Easydriver configuration.
The key practical distinction is roller engagement. The basic is engaged manually with a hand brace or cordless screwdriver. The pro 2.0 engages and disengages electrically using its standard radio remote control. REICH describes the pro’s button-operated engagement as a product feature; this is manufacturer wording, not an independent assessment. Optional app control is available for some setups. On the basic, app control does not engage or disengage the rollers.
How do easydriver basic and pro 2.0 compare?

The climbing figures are tied to the stated loads, not a promise of performance on every slope or surface. The listed values do not distinguish the models; the weight class and engagement method are more useful starting points for choosing between these two examples. A caravan’s actual laden weight, installation fit and conditions still matter.
Will an Easydriver fit your caravan?
Fitment depends on the caravan’s chassis profile and installation conditions. REICH’s manuals give chassis dimensions and strength requirements for the basic, and explain that chassis profiles can require different fastening sets for the pro. The pro manual describes the range as designed for a standard chassis, with additional adapters available on request; it also identifies an adapter for cases where a spare-wheel carrier obstructs installation.
Before ordering, check the exact model manual against your caravan’s chassis, tyre, axle configuration and laden weight. Ask a qualified installer to confirm the mounting arrangement, fastening set and any required adapter for your specific caravan. A model’s listed weight class alone does not establish that it will fit.
Rank #2
- Coiled Cord Extension: Extends up to 2 meters (6.6ft) for flexible reach, retracts neatly to prevent tangling during storage in vehicle.
- Pure Copper & ABS Build: Pure copper contacts resist oxidation ensuring stable signal transfer; ABS shell withstands impact for frequent towing use.
- Weatherproof Locking Cap: Seals out rain, dust, and debris to prevent short circuits and rust, maintaining connection integrity in wet conditions.
- European Standard 12V System: Round 7 pin design fits commercial trucks, trailers, caravans, and marine equipment without adapters.
- Easy Hookup Maneuvering: Coiled slack provides ample length for connecting or disconnecting trailers, making hitching and unhitching quick and hassle-free.
What should you know before operating it?
Follow the instructions for the exact model. The pro manual gives these operating cautions:
- Do not operate the mover while the caravan is still connected to a towing vehicle.
- Keep the caravan and the area around it under observation while manoeuvring.
- Before driving away with the towing vehicle, ensure both drive units are uncoupled.
- Use wedges in front of curbs or similar obstacles, as the manual recommends.
These are selected manual instructions, not a substitute for reading the full manual and following its complete safety guidance.

Routine checks
The manual calls for annual maintenance and visual inspection. It also says to check before each use that the drive is free of dirt, sand and branches. The annual checklist includes:
Rank #3
- TIME-BASED BRAKING: The 47235 brake controller uses time-based actuation to deliver smooth, gradual braking force to your trailer.
- PRECISE BRAKING POWER: Easily adjust braking force from 5% to 99%, with a digital display showing exact percentage for optimal control.
- EASY INSTALLATION: Features "Plug-In Simple!" wiring and mounts at any angle for fast, flexible setup in most vehicles.
- DURABLE & SAFE: Short circuit protected and capable of controlling up to 6 trailer brakes for heavy-duty towing.
- USER-FRIENDLY DESIGN: Intuitive vertical manual slide and a built-in digital screen for quick adjustments and visibility.
- Cleaning the mover.
- Lubricating moving joints with a suitable acid-free lubricant.
- Checking roller-to-tyre distance and tyre pressure.
- Inspecting cables and electrical connections for damage or looseness.
- Checking battery voltage.
Jerky movement or roller slip
For jerky movement, the manual lists low voltage or insufficient battery capacity among possible causes. For roller slip, it lists incorrect roller distance or tyre pressure. The pro manual gives a roller-to-tyre distance of 15–20 mm in its troubleshooting guidance; do not assume this is the correct adjustment for every Easydriver model. Consult the exact manual or a dealer before changing model-specific settings.
Is the Easydriver a good choice?
The Easydriver range is worth considering if you want powered assistance for positioning a caravan and have verified that the chosen model can be installed on your chassis. Between these single-axle examples, basic offers manual roller engagement and a listed weight class up to 1.8 tonnes; pro 2.0 raises the listed class to 2.0 tonnes and adds electric engagement by radio remote. Their manufacturer-listed climbing and power figures are the same at the stated conditions.
