Start by checking those installation details—not by choosing the highest listed CFM. The models below offer different approaches, but their airflow figures are manufacturer specifications, not results from a common performance test.
How to choose an RV range hood
Before comparing models, establish what your RV can accommodate. A hood that looks suitable online may not fit the finished cabinet opening, connect to the existing duct, or match the appliance layout.
- Measure the installation area. Record cabinet width and depth, the available mounting area, and the cooktop width. Compare those measurements with the exact hood’s dimensions and mounting instructions.
- Identify the vent route. Check whether the RV has an exterior exhaust duct and whether its location and direction match the hood outlet. If there is no usable exterior route, consider a non-ducted configuration only if the model offers one and its instructions allow it.
- Check power and wiring. The examples in this guide include 12V products, but that does not mean every RV hood uses the same electrical requirements. Verify the specific model’s voltage, wiring, and fuse instructions against the RV.
- Read the clearance instructions. Compare the required clearances with the actual cooktop and cabinetry. Follow the exact product manual rather than treating a general guide as an installation specification.
- Confirm filter compatibility and upkeep. Check which filter comes with the hood, whether it can be cleaned or replaced, and which replacement part is specified for that model.
Fogatti specifically advises buyers to confirm cabinet width, mounting clearances, wiring, cooktop, and vent route before installation. Its guidance is a useful checklist, not a substitute for the manual of the hood you select: Fogatti 13-inch RV range hood.
Ducted or non-ducted: which setup does your RV need?
Ducted hoods
A ducted hood exhausts air through a route to the exterior. Choose this type only when the RV has a compatible exterior duct path, and confirm that the hood outlet lines up with it. A listed ducted model is not automatically compatible with every roof or wall vent arrangement.

Non-ducted or recirculating hoods
A non-ducted hood returns air to the cabin through a filter instead of sending it outside. That is a different air-handling arrangement, not simply a ducted hood installed without its duct. Check the product instructions and filter requirements; the available product information does not establish that recirculating filtration removes all cooking fumes.
Some products are offered in both configurations. Fogatti lists ducted and non-ducted versions of its 13-inch hood, so verify which configuration is being sold and whether it suits your RV’s installation.

RV range hoods to compare
This is a comparison of listed product features, not a hands-on ranking. The sources do not provide a common method or real-world test results for comparing airflow, sound, or durability.
| Model | Listed fit or design | Listed airflow | Power and other listed details | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Furrion FHO23SACR-SS | 24-inch, ducted; Lippert lists a flush-mount cabinet depth of 16-11/16 inches | 100 CFM | 12V; LED lighting; charcoal filter | Confirm the cabinet depth, opening, duct route, wiring, and model instructions. Lippert product listing |
| Dometic CK 150 | Flush-mounted cooker hood; compact fan is integrated into the roof dome rather than the hood body | Not stated on the cited product page | Single-speed 12V motor | Check the roof-dome arrangement and installation requirements for your RV. Dometic product page |

How to interpret airflow and electrical specifications
CFM is a listed airflow figure, not proof that one hood will perform better in a particular RV. The cited product pages do not establish a shared measurement method or comparable real-world results. Treat the 100 CFM Furrion figure, Fogatti’s “up to 96 CFM,” and InVision’s 65 or 85 CFM options as manufacturer or supplier specifications, not as a test-based ranking.
Electrical values are also model-specific. The Furrion specification document lists 12VDC, 1.1A power consumption, and a 15A ATC fuse in its wiring diagram for the models it covers; it also lists 3W LED power consumption. Those details should not be generalized to other hoods or treated as confirmation that a particular RV circuit is suitable. Consult the exact hood documentation and the RV’s wiring information: Furrion specification document.

Filters, cleaning and replacement
Filter type varies by product, and filters are not necessarily interchangeable. Lippert describes the Furrion model as including a charcoal filter that can be replaced and cleaned. A separate RV hood specification document describes a washable aluminum mesh filter. Match any replacement filter to the exact hood model and its documentation rather than choosing by appearance alone.
Which type is the best match?
- For a 24-inch ducted installation with matching cabinet depth: compare the Furrion FHO23SACR-SS against the measured space and existing exterior duct route.
- For a compact cabinet: Fogatti’s 13-inch hood is a size option, but choose its ducted or non-ducted configuration based on the RV’s actual vent setup.
- For a roof-dome fan arrangement: review the Dometic CK 150’s design and installation requirements; its fan location differs from a hood with the fan in the unit itself.
- For an InVision appliance setup: consider InVision’s vented hood, while verifying the manufacturer’s stated appliance compatibility.
There is not enough cited evidence to name a quietest or most durable model. A sound or longevity claim would require comparable testing, which the product pages do not provide.

Installation checks before ordering
Use the exact model’s manual and product instructions to verify fit and safety. Before ordering, compare the cabinet opening and depth, hood dimensions, cooktop width, outlet location and duct route, wiring and fuse requirements, and specified clearances. If measurements or wiring are uncertain, have a qualified RV technician confirm compatibility. Product specifications alone do not establish that a hood will fit a particular RV.
