Countertop option: Xiaomi Instant Hot Water Dispenser
Xiaomi’s UK product page lists a 3 L tank, with default modes for room temperature, 45°C, 75°C and 95°C. It also describes an adjustable range from 45°C to 90°C in 1°C increments. Xiaomi’s UK support FAQ lists dispense choices of 250 ml, 500 ml and 750 ml, plus a child lock, boil-dry protection, removable tank and removable drip tray. The FAQ states a 2000 W rating and recommends using purified, room-temperature water. It also says not to share the socket with other high-power appliances, notes that the unit is not waterproof, and recommends use below 2,000 m; altitude can reduce outlet temperature. The product page advertises “Hot water in 3 seconds,” identified as manufacturer-tested data under Report No. SYS20240628005. The report itself is not available in the cited material, so treat this as Xiaomi’s claim rather than a promise for every setting, dispense or household condition. Xiaomi UK product page

This format is worth considering if you regularly want one cup or a measured portion and prefer not to heat a full kettle. Check the countertop footprint, outlet arrangement, cleaning and water requirements against your own kitchen routine.
Temperature-controlled kettles: Braun Identity and AENO EK1S
Braun Identity Kettle
Braun says the Identity Kettle has five temperature settings and keeps water at the selected temperature for up to 30 minutes. Its cited US page lists automatic shut-off when the selected temperature is reached, when the kettle is empty, or when it is removed from its base. AENO EK1S
AENO describes the EK1S as having five tea modes, a keep-warm function, automatic power-off and overheat protection. Its page also makes a “12 000+ boilings” product-life claim using Strix technology, but the cited material does not provide independent test documentation for that figure; it should be read as an AENO claim, not established durability evidence. Choose this category if you want temperature choices or keep-warm convenience but do not want a permanent sink installation. Unlike a flow-through dispenser, a kettle heats water in its vessel, so consider how much you typically need per use.

Stiebel Eltron describes UltraHot as a 2¾-quart tank that supplies near-boiling water at the sink, plugs into a standard 120 V outlet and can be adjusted as low as 149°F. InSinkErator HWT-300
InSinkErator describes the HWT-300 digital tank as adjustable from 190°F to 210°F. The company documents separate dispenser and faucet options; its spring-lock hot-water lever returns when released. An under-sink system can keep the counter clear, but it is a kitchen-fixture decision rather than a plug-in kettle swap. It makes most sense when you can accommodate the tank and faucet arrangement and plan for installation and filter upkeep.
How to choose for your kitchen
- Match the amount to your routine. For one cup or a measured serving, a dispenser’s portion controls may suit you. For several cups or a larger batch, a kettle heats its vessel. An installed tank’s delivery figures describe its specified output, not a full-kettle capacity.
- Be precise about temperature. “Near-boiling,” a 95°C dispenser mode and boiling water are not interchangeable claims. Consider whether you need a particular temperature, and account for Xiaomi’s stated temperature variability and altitude caveat if considering its dispenser.
- Compare setup and space. A countertop appliance needs a suitable counter location and outlet. A kettle needs space for the appliance and its base. An under-sink tank needs cabinet clearance, a compatible faucet configuration and the required electrical connection.
- Include upkeep in the decision. Check the appliance’s water requirements, tank access and cleaning instructions. For a filtered under-sink configuration, plan around InSinkErator’s stated filter interval and verify the filter specified for that system.
- Verify the exact regional model. Product names and features can differ by market. Manufacturer pages describe their own models; they do not establish an independent ranking or guarantee availability in your location.
Which option is the best fit?
There is no universal winner in these manufacturer specifications. For measured countertop servings, Xiaomi’s dispenser offers a documented range of temperature and volume controls. For a removable vessel with temperature selection, Braun Identity or AENO EK1S are kettle examples to compare by local model. For near-boiling water integrated at the sink, consider Stiebel Eltron or InSinkErator systems only after confirming the complete installation and faucet requirements.
