The right DeWalt charger depends on your battery platform and how many packs you need ready at once. For a straightforward single-pack option, consider the 6-amp DCB1106; for a fan-cooled single charger, the 8-amp DCB118 is designed for 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT packs. Crews charging several batteries at once can compare the four-port DCB104 and DCB1404, while the dual-port DCB102 adds USB charging for compatible devices.
Compare DeWalt chargers by compatibility and workflow
| Model | Officially stated battery compatibility | Charging setup and rated output | Notable feature |
|---|---|---|---|
| DCB1106 | 12V MAX, 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT | One charger; 6 amps | Two-stage LED state-of-charge indicator. DEWALT product page. |
| DCB118 | 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT 20/60V MAX | One charger; 8 amps | Internal fan intended to help limit hot- or cold-pack delays. DEWALT product page. |
| DCB104 | 12V MAX, 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT 20/60V MAX | Four ports; 8 amps per port | Charges four batteries simultaneously. DEWALT product page. |
| DCB1404 | 12V MAX, 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT 20/60V MAX | Four ports; 4 amps per port | Charges four batteries simultaneously. DEWALT product page. |
| DCB102 | 12V MAX, 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT 20/60V MAX | Two charging ports; 4-amp charger | Two USB outputs rated up to 1.5 amps maximum each, plus LED status information. DEWALT product page. |
DEWALT describes these amp ratings as maximum rates when the battery pack is designed to charge at that rate. That makes amps useful for understanding a charger’s stated capability, not a universal promise about how quickly every pack will charge.
Which DeWalt charger is best for your work?
For one compatible pack and a simple indicator: DCB1106
The 6-amp DCB1106 is a practical choice if you want one charger for compatible 12V MAX, 20V MAX or FLEXVOLT batteries and value a two-stage LED state-of-charge indicator. DEWALT does not provide a single charge-time figure here that applies to every battery capacity.
For a fan-cooled single charger: DCB118
The DCB118 is rated at 8 amps and includes an internal fan intended to help limit charging delays when a pack is hot or cold. Its listed compatibility is 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT 20/60V MAX; the product page does not list 12V MAX compatibility.

- This battery charger requires 120V 60hz input power and has the standard 2-prong North American plug.
- In easy-to-open bulk packaging to pass the savings on to you.
For four packs at a time with higher per-port output: DCB104
The DCB104 charges four batteries simultaneously and is rated at 8 amps per port. DEWALT lists examples of four DCB204 packs charging in 40 minutes and four DCB606 packs in 60 minutes. Those are model-specific manufacturer examples, not guaranteed times for other batteries or conditions. See DEWALT’s DCB104 specifications.
For four-port charging at 4 amps per port: DCB1404
The DCB1404 also charges four batteries simultaneously, with a listed 4 amps per port. DEWALT says four 20V MAX 2Ah packs can charge in as little as 32 minutes and four 4Ah packs in as little as 67 minutes. These are manufacturer examples for the specified capacities, not universal charging estimates. See DEWALT’s DCB1404 specifications.

For two batteries plus USB charging: DCB102
The DCB102 combines two battery charging ports with two USB outputs, each specified for up to 1.5 amps maximum output to compatible devices. Choose it when those extra USB ports and LED status information suit your jobsite setup. See DEWALT’s DCB102 specifications.
Will a 20V DeWalt charger charge a FLEXVOLT battery?
It depends on the exact charger. DEWALT lists FLEXVOLT compatibility for all five chargers compared here, but the DCB118 is specifically listed for 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT 20/60V MAX, while the DCB1106, DCB104, DCB1404 and DCB102 also list 12V MAX. Confirm the precise battery and charger models in DEWALT’s battery and charger compatibility manual before charging; platform names alone are not enough to establish compatibility.

How many DeWalt batteries can you charge at once?
Among these models, the DCB1106 and DCB118 are single chargers, the DCB102 has two battery charging ports, and the DCB104 and DCB1404 each charge four batteries simultaneously. The four-port models differ in rated output: 8 amps per port for the DCB104 and 4 amps per port for the DCB1404. Choose by the number and type of packs you need in rotation rather than assuming the port count alone determines turnaround time.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to check before choosing
- Match the exact battery: Check its model against the charger’s compatibility information and DEWALT manual.
- Count packs in your rotation: A single charger may suit one active pack; a two- or four-port model can support a larger rotation.
- Interpret output ratings carefully: The stated amp rating is a maximum rate for a pack designed to charge at that rate, not a charge-time guarantee for every capacity.
- Use published charge times narrowly: Treat DEWALT’s examples as specific to the named charger and pack configuration.
- Consider jobsite features: The DCB118 has an internal fan, the DCB1106 has a two-stage LED indicator, and the DCB102 offers USB outputs. The cited specifications do not establish a comparative weight or dimensions ranking.
These specifications are from DEWALT’s US product pages, accessed in 2026. They are manufacturer specifications, not independent comparative test results. Prices and stock are not established by those pages.
