If the intended spot does not meet the holder’s stated surface requirements, a suction model may not be a suitable no-drill solution. Graham-Field describes a screw-in configuration for textured surfaces alongside a suction option for polished surfaces; that alternative involves drilling and should be weighed against the wall and any rental restrictions.
Match the holder opening to your shower handle
Do not assume that a holder advertised as universal will fit every handheld shower. The listed dimensions vary: Lowe’s gives a 22 mm slot for the Unique Bargains S25093001UX3323, while MineralStream specifies a 3/4-inch opening for its adjustable holder. Check the holder’s dimensions against the handle, including any collar or fitting that must pass through the opening.

Compare adjustment and mounting features
Look at how the holder changes the shower’s direction and how it attaches. IKEA lists two tilt positions for TISKEN. MineralStream describes an adjustable bracket and a lever-activated suction cup. Lowe’s lists an adjustable angle for the Unique Bargains model. These are different stated features, not evidence that one option performs better in use.
Installation instructions also differ. A push-on suction cup and a lever-locking cup do not necessarily install the same way, so follow the directions for the specific holder rather than assuming all suction mounts work alike.
