A food processor only dices vegetables evenly when it has a dedicated dicing grid and disc. A standard S-blade chops; it does not reliably make uniform cubes. Among the documented options, Breville Paradice models offer several cube sizes, while select KitchenAid full-size processors support a separate or included dicing kit. The right choice depends on the exact model, included attachments, batch size and how much assembly and cleanup you are willing to do.
What makes a food processor a vegetable dicer?
A dicing attachment combines a grid with a cutting disc: the disc slices the vegetable, then the grid cuts the slices into cubes. That is different from using a processor’s ordinary chopping blade, which produces irregular chopped pieces rather than dependable cubes.
Manufacturer specifications establish which models accept the attachment and what sizes are offered; they do not establish that one model dices better than another in a standardized side-by-side test. Treat the options below as compatible product families to investigate, not a ranked performance result.

Choose a cube size and batch limit for your cooking
Match the cube to the recipe
Breville lists 8 mm, 12 mm and 16 mm dicing options across its system. Smaller cubes can suit fine prep such as salsa toppings; larger cubes may work better when a recipe calls for more substantial pieces. Those sizes are not necessarily available on every Paradice model, so check the specification for the exact configuration rather than assuming the family-wide range applies to each one.
Check the real batch limit
Bowl capacity is not the same as a safe or practical dicing-batch limit. The Breville BFP820 manual specifies 12 × 12 mm cubes and a maximum batch of 10 cups with that dicing kit. It says to use the distributor for quantities over five cups. Those instructions apply to the BFP820 kit, not automatically to other Breville processors or other brands.

For other models, use the manual’s attachment-specific limits. Cuisinart’s buying guide advises choosing capacity based on planned preparation and available kitchen space; larger bowls may suit batch cooking, while compact machines can have fewer functions. Independent 2026 buying coverage also discusses capacity and compact-versus-larger use, but does not establish a comparative vegetable-dicing result for the named models: TechRadar, “The best food processors 2026”.
Account for produce size, feed chutes and preparation
Feed-tube size affects how much you must cut produce before processing. The KitchenAid kit documented in its support article requires a regular-size feed tube and works with compatible 13- and 14-cup processors. Confirm the right tube and kit cover are present; a compatible bowl alone does not establish that the dicing accessory will fit.

Breville’s BFP820 manual gives ingredient-specific directions for its kit: feed raw carrots lengthwise through the small chute and pumpkin through the medium chute. It also recommends par-cooking some harder vegetables when appropriate. These are model-specific operating instructions, not universal rules for other processors.
The same manual cautions against using its kit for sweet potato: “Do not dice sweet potato (Yam/Kumara).” It explains that the vegetable’s dry, fibrous texture can place a high load on the kit and potentially damage the bowl lid. Follow the manual for the exact machine you own, especially when processing hard or fibrous vegetables.

Consider assembly, cleaning and storage
A dicing kit adds parts beyond the bowl and S-blade. You need to assemble the disc and grid as directed, feed vegetables in a suitable orientation and clean the grid after use. Small pieces can lodge in the grid, so check the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions and whether a cleaning tool is supplied before choosing a kit. Store the grid, disc and any dedicated cover together; a processor that fits your counter may still require storage space for its accessories.
Which type of processor should you choose?
For frequent batch preparation
Start with a larger-capacity configuration whose manufacturer confirms the dicing kit is included or compatible. Compare its attachment-specific batch limit with the amount you actually prepare; a large bowl does not override a lower limit for dicing.

For limited counter or storage space
Consider a compact Paradice configuration only if its exact model supports the cube size and attachment you need. The Paradice family spans multiple capacities and configurations, so verify the included parts rather than relying on the family name.
If you already own a processor
Check for a compatible manufacturer dicing kit before replacing the base. KitchenAid documents a separately purchasable kit for compatible 13- and 14-cup processors with a regular-size feed tube. Cuisinart describes optional dicing accessories, but the cited guide does not establish current model pairings; verify the exact processor and accessory directly before ordering.
A practical buying checklist
- Look for a dedicated dicing grid and disc; an S-blade alone means chopping, not uniform dicing.
- Verify the exact processor model, feed tube and kit cover are compatible.
- Check whether the kit is included or an optional purchase in the specific listing and market.
- Choose an available cube size that fits your recipes.
- Use the manual’s batch limit and produce-specific directions, not bowl capacity or another model’s instructions.
- Account for attachment assembly, grid cleaning and accessory storage.
Manufacturer pages document features and instructions, not comparative dicing performance. Current model configurations, accessory stock and included parts can change; verify them on the product listing before purchase.
