On many Samsung refrigerators, press the Door Alarm button once; the indicator should go out to show the alarm is disabled. On some models, you need to press and hold the button for three seconds instead. If your refrigerator has a Family Hub touchscreen, use its settings menu. The exact controls vary by model, so follow the procedure that matches your refrigerator.
Turn off the alarm from the control panel
- Find Door Alarm on the refrigerator’s display.
- On models that use a tap, press the button once. Samsung says the alarm is enabled by default on the models covered by its instructions; when enabled, its indicator is lit. The indicator going out confirms that the alarm is off. Samsung Gulf support
- If a tap does not toggle the setting, check your model’s manual. Samsung Germany describes holding Door Alarm for three seconds on the models covered by its instructions, but this is not a universal sequence. Samsung Germany support
Turn off the alarm on a Family Hub refrigerator
- On the touchscreen, open Apps.
- Choose Fridge Manager, then Fridge Settings.
- Select Door Alarm Deactivate and confirm the change. Menu wording can vary by model or region. Samsung India support
Know what the setting changes
This setting controls the door-open reminder, not a temperature, power, or other refrigerator alert. For the models described by Samsung Gulf, the indicator blinks and the alarm sounds when a door remains open for more than two minutes. Disabling the reminder does not address why a door may be left open or fail to close.
If the alarm has already started, Samsung Gulf says that pressing any display button can temporarily stop it on certain models. That is a temporary silence, not confirmation that the Door Alarm setting has been switched off. Samsung Gulf support

If the controls or menu do not match
- Look up the user manual for your exact refrigerator model and follow its door-alarm instructions. Samsung directs owners to the model-specific manual when the listed controls do not match. Samsung Philippines support
- If the alarm continues after the setting is off, determine whether the sound is actually a different alert; the door-alarm instructions do not cover temperature, power, or other warnings.
- The instructions are for changing a setting. They do not establish that a sensor needs repair or support bypassing refrigerator hardware.
