That removable divider is its main advantage—and the reason to buy it only if you expect to use both layouts. If you mainly want two separate drawers and rarely cook a large item or batch, a conventional dual-drawer model may suit you better.
What the FlexDrawer does differently
The AF500UK’s divider turns one wide drawer into two independently configured 5.2L zones. Remove it and the drawer becomes a single 10.4L MegaZone. Ninja lists seven functions: Max Crisp, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat, Dehydrate and Prove. Ninja’s UK product listing gives the capacity and functions; the AF500UK instructions explain the controls and operation.
With the divider fitted, you can set the zones separately for different foods. SYNC coordinates their finish times, while MATCH copies settings between them. SYNC is a timing feature, not a promise that unlike foods will reach identical doneness. The practical appeal is being able to choose between two cooking spaces and one wider shared space without buying separate appliances.
Is the MegaZone useful enough for your kitchen?
It makes sense if you will switch layouts
The large zone is useful when the shape or amount of food is awkward to split between two compartments, while the divided layout supports cooking foods with different settings at once. Think about what you actually cook: if both situations come up regularly, the removable divider gives you a meaningful choice.

A standard dual-drawer air fryer may be a better fit otherwise
If you expect to leave the divider in place all the time, you may be paying for flexibility you do not use. Tech Advisor’s 14 June 2024 review makes the same basic buying distinction: shoppers who do not need the MegaZone may be better served by another Ninja dual-drawer model. Compare basket layout, external dimensions, storage and today’s price before deciding; the available evidence does not establish a current price comparison.
Capacity, speed and efficiency claims
Ninja describes the AF500UK as a 10.4L appliance with two 5.2L zones when divided. The same UK listing advertises performance figures, but each is an “up to” manufacturer comparison tied to particular foods and methods—not a prediction for every recipe or home:

These are claims from Ninja’s product page accessed in 2026, not independent results or guaranteed household savings. The published reviews cited here do not provide a replacement controlled comparison across foods, ovens and usage patterns.
What published reviewers say—and what they do not establish
Expert Reviews, in a review published 10 June 2024, describes the appliance as capacious and intuitive; its reviewer says it had enough space for their two-person household. Ninja’s UK listing says the drawer, divider and crisper plates are non-stick and dishwasher safe. That claim applies to those named components; do not assume every part of the appliance can go in a dishwasher. Follow the linked instructions for care and safe use.

The instructions say cooking pauses when you remove the drawer and resumes when it is reinserted. If it stays out for more than ten minutes, the program is cancelled and you need to set it again. Ninja also advises using silicone-tipped utensils when removing food. For Prove, the manual specifies 35°C and advises consulting local food-safety guidance for recommended safe temperatures.
The UK listing states a two-year guarantee; check the current guarantee terms before purchase. The instructions direct owners seeking additional parts and accessories to Ninja’s parts channel and list Customer Service at 0800 862 0453. Confirm that contact details and part availability remain current, and verify that any replacement divider or crisper plate is specifically compatible with AF500UK.
Who should buy the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer?
- Consider it if you want one appliance that can cook in two separately configured zones or open into one larger cooking area, and you have counter and storage space for its wide drawer.
- Compare conventional dual drawers if separate compartments are your priority and you do not expect to use the MegaZone.
- Check before ordering that the listing is for the UK AF500UK model, that the current price and guarantee work for you, and that the appliance fits your counter and storage space. Do not assume regional versions share the same model code, plug, voltage or guarantee.
